Yeah but you’re talking about a number of cities that rely on Saturday gameday in the fall to spur the local economy through the end of the year. Not to mention what football provides in terms of revenue to the other sports and the universities.
Baton Rouge, Clemson, State College, Oxford, College Station, Eugene, Norman, the list goes on and on. It’s not “just football”. It’s the entire construct for many schools.
This isn’t neutral site basketball.

Do y’all people even realize what’s going on in hospitals across the nation. They are overloading in capacity. This happens in the fall. They are going to let 90000 plus crowds get together.

Good Lord, some of you people are freaking out over football season, when fall camp isnt even scheduled to start for another 4 months. Chill the frick out. These hot days and the summertime coming up and the precautions we have implemented will help to get this shite under control here fairly soon. Y'all act as if the world is coming to an end ffs. I've never seen such overreaction. It's seriously ridiculous.
Btw, Chinas basketball league is preparing to resume their season in May. They pushed it back to may just to be extra cautious. The cases in China, the worst area hit by the virus and where this fricking shite began, have been in decline and are dwindling down day by day. I understand that the us has the most cases confirmed, but we also have taken steps to ensure that we will get it under control. Just give it time to run its course and slowly die down. Just as China is reverting back to their normal daily lives over there slowly but surely, so will we. Give it another 2 months here in the USA, and things will be close to being back to normal again. So, once again, chill the frick out. We are going to get this under control in the next couple months. Geaux Fightin' Tigers!

Things would have to get WAY worse than we could ever fear for this having to isolate and quarantine 5 months from now.
They'll shut everything, and I mean everything, down for a few weeks before they let this run for that long.

I hope not. We’ll know in two weeks. By then, the data on sampling for antibodies will be available. If 50% of New Yorkers have them - as the Oxford study suggests - than we’ll be out of this by June. If it’s 10% - like the Imperial College study suggests - than we will have no football season.

Well, Herbie said yesterday he would be"shocked" if the 2020 football season, college or pro, takes place. Guess we'll see, huh!
