he has now been scouted and maybe they have discovered a weakness they can exploit

But don't they do that with every player?

Of course, but to varying degrees of success. I would expect it to be more likely that a talented freshman has some weakness that he needs to fix.

What’s his batting average against lefties and righties in those 40 games?

He’s 4-33 since the A&M series with 2 RBI’s and bunch of K’s and very few walks. Yes teams figure hitters out and players do have slumps. My question is I’ve seen other very good players have slumps and get benched, why not Curiel. Especially when there are guys on the bench that can play that position. I get it, he’s a damn good player, but he’s not the only player we have.

One example real quick dumba$$ 2023 Jared Jones benched for Beloso. 2024 Neal for Milazzo, Kling for Brown. Play the hot bat it’s simple if they can handle the position in the field

Neal, Kling a freshman Jones who was not great at all then and still learning? No. Those aren’t viable examples at all.

Really, Jay benched Bear while hitting 300 with 14 home runs as a freshman. I’d hate to see what you think is good. Stick to your real job because you’re proving you know absolutely nothing about sports.

If your filter of baseball decision making is what you use to determine strategy -then of course you think I know nothing. And yet JJ won’t bench DC nor follow any of your other thoughts. Let me guess- you were on board the “bench Crews” train at the end of 2023 cause he was slumping?

Y’all need to think about what yall are saying. You think a switch was hit from the end of the Tennessee series to the A&M series that allowed teams to know exactly how to pitch and play him? It’s far more likely he’s played a crazy amount of lefties and is just not as hot as he was at the start of the year. Not that Tennessee did not know how to throw to him and the other teams do lol. He just needs to adjust.

IMO, he's a Fr. The season is long. He's just mentally taxed at this juncture. Hopefully, he'll reinvigorate for the postseason. We need his A-game.

Agree. Despite his slump I feel like he has one of the highest Pitches Seen Per Plate Appearance stats in the lineup.
