That's exactly the problem with most of the posters on this site. You should stop thinking because you aren't any good at it.

I guess my take is a little different. I think the LSU staff should be last in responsibility.
These kids get paid...a lot. The first responsibility should be on the player. In my line of work...if I have a disciplinary problem...then I have to report it to my employers or governing bodies. If they find out...then I could get into bigger trouble. The real question would be how and when was he notified. If he wasn't...then that's a big problem that needs to be fixed by the NCAA.
Secondly, it seems like it should be up to the Big 12 or NCAA to put this on some sort of transcript that is easily pulled by the player or current institution. Not sure how these things work...but it seems like a no brainer with current technology.
Either way...Clemson got the info and leaked it and now we have egg on our face. Time to move past it.

Plenty of people have answered it. You idiots just don't understand that LSU had zero incentive to draw attention to the issue seeing as they didn't know he was suspended
Yeah. This is really in the NCAA. If a player is suspended, there should be zero ambiguity. There should be a formal notification from the NCAA.
It shouldn’t be up to coaches and players to guess.
Especially in a case like this where it seems the penalty was upgraded retroactively.

It was never a possibility until Dabo called the ncaa and ask them to revise last year’s penalty.

Could it have to do with the 9 game SEC schedule starting next year?

the NCAA notified Houston of the change in penalty back in December before Haulcy transferred.

It does seem pretty eesy to add a line on the transfer questionnaire..
Are you eligible to play next year? Check yes or no.

It’s the staffs fault Haulcy got suspended for fighting?
For fricks sake, no one is saying it’s the LSU coaches fault a kid got into a fight while playing for another team.
Some folks are simply pointing out that it’s weird that Clemson found out about it before LSU.

People talk. Someone from Houston leaked this
Posted on 8/29/25 at 11:35 pm to Kayakndan74
That exact question is on the transfer portal documentation. An image is linked in another thread. However, Houston’s compliance department left it blank & didn’t fully disclose Haulcy’s updated suspension.
