Hate to say it but the Hilliard move in last nights games defines Manieri’s career

You go out with Hilliard in the 6th, everyone know if you get in a jam, you pull him.

These type of decisions hurt PM’s career.

And if he goes out and doesn't have it, walks a couple, maybe gives up a hit, then everyone is bitching about not pulling him after he threw 2 times last weekend, when you have Coleman ready to go coming off of his best performance all season.

What I'm trying to say is, shut the frick up.

You’re missing the point, Hilliard wasn’t limping into the 6th, he was hitting his stride. No one would fault a coach for sending his starter out in the 6th at 76 pitches, coming off his best inning in the 5th. If you don’t understand that dynamic, then this conversation is over your head.

Now, if he struggled in the 5th you have a point or if he started the 6th with a couple of walks and we didn’t pull him, you’d have a point. That’s not what happened, PM pulled his senior starter after his 2 best innings and a fairly reasonable pitch count, to put in a freshman to face the top of the order.

Sending Hilliard out to pitch DOES NOT mean you are married to him if he struggles. All of you who support PM’s decision refuse to acknowledge that Coleman was already warm and ready. You send Hilliard out. If he struggles with a batter or two, pull him. He rolls through three batters, you are an inning closer to Fontenot. It was not smart to pull him at that point when he could have waited to at least see what Hilliard looked like.

Paul Manieri !500 + wins
DiehardLSUZach 0 wins

There was sound reasoning to replace Hilliard. Coleman was the victim of some bad baseball luck with the slow chop to third on which Doughty made an error in judgement and the grounder to second not quite hard enough to turn two. At worse they are tied .

1500 wins, 2 CWS championship appearances with a national title and you that that single move defines his career?

He gave up a single, double and 3 walks in the inning. That’s not bad luck baseball

Pulling Hilliard is NOT why we lost that game.

That doesn’t define his career.

Video game generation. Y’all think LSU should win every single time and your feelings get hurt when they don’t.
