This may have something to do with it. I would not compare this to PSU as that place was full of men of iniquity. No way that Joe Pa did not know what was going on on his turf.

Since 1987 lsu has 5 season of 2 losses or less. Miles has 4 of them. Miles inherited a 3 loss lsu team.

did not improve. It was at the top and he kept it there for a few years but he is not making the adjustments that other programs are making to maintain that and we are dropping like a door knob.

Wow. This notion that lsu was a top 5 program when Miles took over is laughable. We had 1 2 loss season since 1987.

Thanks for confirming that 2004 wasn't a bad year as the delusional Miles lovers pretend it was.

It was a 3 loss season. Something Miles get killed for.

Les will have 2 SEC titles, which Saban accomplished in 5 years while at LSU. He'll have 1 NC in 10 years, same as Saban had in 5 years.

Miles doesn't coach in the sec west where 3 losses wins you the division like Saban in 2001

Ok but it's laughable to proclaim Miles inherited a top 5 program when he didn't. 1 season of 2 or less loses since 1987 doesn't make you a top 5 or top 10 program

I understand but the concept is the same. Paterno for all he did wrong wanted to have a big time college football program that was clean and players went to class and graduated. However it meant he struggled at times.

Sometimes the best players are the worst people. Miles won't sacrifice that.

As far as LSU goes I don't believe we have a child rapist running around but that withholding we run the program very similar.

I am the first to support NOT recruiting bad apples. Fine if it means mediocrity. BUT what I find puzzling is CLM's apparent inability/unwillingness to make a change when what he is doing does not work. QB is a good place to start. He has nothing to show at that position despite being @ LSU for 10 years. Nothing. The best QB was a transfer from UGA. Lack of a QB has hamstrung the offense for many years, yet he produces nothing at the position. Some semblance of a credible offense is needed urgently now that the defense is manned by divinity students.

Coleman*
Zenon*
Alexander*

So 15 of 22 starters on the 2007 NC team were players recruited by Saban 4 or 5 years earlier, but Les won that title with his talent, right?

1. how many of those players even saw the field under Saban?
2. what about that 2004 recruiting class? Saban really did a number on us there. 8 recruits, 0 o-lineman and a month left to fill the spots.
3. did you know that 17 of the 26 players that went pro under Saban were Dinardo recruits? but everyone likes to pretend that Saban walked into an empty cupboard. look at the 2000 roster.

nothing like some good ole fashioned revisionist history

im constantly amazed how some people will shite all over a national championship just to have some type of "gotcha" moment against Miles. what a fricked up fanbase we have.

Yes. If LSU won 1/9 they'd be seen as the best team of all time, or at least the best season. The 1/9 loss tainted a glorious body of work that year.

I see a lot more successful players in the NFL. That is a good milestone of the program, as it shows player development(maybe not QB) and recruiting strength.

Yes he did. LSU hauled in the number 1 recruiting class in 2003, then after winning the national championship, LSU hauled in the number 2 recruiting class in 2004.

LSU was a 4th and 12 conversion away from making the SEC Championship game again in 2004. And we probably would have beaten Tennessee.

Like it or not, Miles took over a top 5 program.

and then Saban hauls arse after signing a total of 8 recruits and zero o-lineman with a month left to fill the spots

He recruited across the board and did not leave many holes (with maybe the exception of a little on OL).

Your point? In Les' first 3 years, LSU had the following players in the NFL from Saban recruits under Miles:

JR, Flynn, Landry, Doucet, Dorsey, Jackson, Bowe, Buster Davis, Jessie Daniels, Kyle Williams, Chevis Jackson, Niswanger, Nate Livings, Hester, Ronnie Prude, Oliver, Brazell, Skylar Green, Andrew Whitworth, Wroten, Chase Pittman, Craig Steltz, Keith Zinger

So that's 24 players in his first 3 years from Saban that I get off the top of my head and I may be missing some.

I'd say that's a significantly bigger number than 17.
