I don’t agree to ditch Davis on oline, I suspect he thought his dudes were ready this year and let the machine run itself only to realize after season started that the IOL was not gelling and laying pancakes and did not actually posses a mean streak.

From what we know Chester and Echols possess the mean streak hopefully it was not coach out of them this year, by trying to process a complicated scheme. I think next year letting Chester and Echols become bullies at guard if we can find a transfer center if not then hope Echols can hold it down.

My experience is centers cannot be maulers they need to be smart and quick, so having Chester or Echols there is a waste

He’s done well here. If the inherited roster were better, lsu would already be really good.

Then why was his first season his best? The latest his worst?

That was O. The rebuild is going to take a lot longer than expected.

anyone else who buys a ticket and goes to the games pays for the coach's salary....indirectly

I keep asking this. I still don't have a good answer.

The SEC pays each university $40 Million a year from the TV Contract with ABC/ESPN. THAT pays the coach's salary, right?

The money from the games goes to TAF. TAF pays for training facilities upgrades. right?

Yes. It'll take years before LSU is respected and a contender again. Yankee needs to go asap. He only cares about his paycheck....nothing about LSU.

That's what is baffling to me, so many act like the caoch holds all the cards. In this case, LSU had something Kelly wanted, to coach a SEC team that has won and can compete for championships. That's leverage, therefore, you negotiate a reasonable contract off that leverage and if he balks at it, you move on. Do not hold yourself hostage on one person. I think Kelly was making 2.6 million at ND, offer him 6 for 5 years, take it or leave it.

The roster that won the SEC? Couple years later we’re unranked and spiraling ooc.

Chester is no mauler. Not only does he have no clue who to block, when he actually has an easy assignment to blow up the guy in front of him, he is the one who gets blown up.

I never want to see him in an LSU uniform again.

Just looked it up, in 2020, his total compensation was a little over 3, so his salary was less than 3, So, there you go.

no real hope for next year, but if we get another top 3 - 5 class, we should be pretty much set after next year.

The guy who went 4-7 and 2-8? Some of you have no grasp on reality.

Where do you think this program is going? Just because we can see the writing on the wall a little ahead of time doesn’t make us wrong. His culture, his style, his lack of intensity and YES his loss of control of the locker room is identical to Gerry DiNardo.

Notre Dame paid Brian Kelly north of $3 million during the 2020 season, federal tax documents show, although the total sum of the head football coach’s compensation was likely much higher than that.

BK was likely in the $6-7 million range.
