T.J. Forrest? Did pretty good at Arkansas...although we lit him up in the CWS.

I guess the answer is really no because we are really trying to scratch out some names here. Is Hayden Rettig set to start at Rutgers this year?

Shawnson Johnson had a pretty good year at North Texas after we lost him. Tim Bush had a good year at Baylor after we lost him before injuries really derailed his career.
Kentrell Gransberry was really good at South Florida. None of those I guess are equivalent other than Tim Bush.
Ross Neltner took his 0.8 illegal screens a game to Vandy. LSU could have used him and he was better at Vandy than he ever was for us.

Rick Clausen is now an executive for a company who makes devices that register impact statistics in football helmets. My buddy is a retailer for a helmet brand and knows him well. We sat and had drinks one night while he enjoyed telling the story of how he came back to beat LSU on that Monday night.

Since you asked about ANY sport, Briana Holman in volleyball transferred to Nebraska last year. She has Olympic level talent and can jump out of the gym. Set our program back years.

Lester Ricard wound having a really good career at Tulane and spent a few years in the pros, but Jamarcus Russel was out QB then he wouldn't have gotten past him to start

The Clausen that played here transferred and came back to beat us with Tennessee

I've always heard the story that John David Crow enrolled at LSU, but the Bear spirited him off to aTm before he ever reported to practice.

Can't believe noone mentioned Lester Earl.

Lots of baseball players as mentioned. Can't think of any football guys who had great success at DI schools, however two who blew up at IAA were Gil Fenerty and Stan Humphries at Holy Cross and NE La respectively. Fenerty was an AA and still the all-time leading rusher at Holy Cross who went on to play for the New Orleans Saints among other professional teams. He originally committed to LSU but thought better of playing behind Hilliard and James. Oddly enough he became Hilliard's backup with the Saints.
Humphries sat the bench for LSU behind Wickersham and bailed to play for the Indians where he led the team to the IAA national championship. Of course from there he became a Super Bowl QB for the San Diego Chargers.

That name is a thorn to a Tiger fan's side.

quote:Lavelle Hawkins has already been mentioned. He transferred to California (after somewhere else for a year), then was drafted in the 4th round of the draft when he graduated. I'd say that's pretty good success. Plus here are some things mentioned on his Cal bio page LINK.
