Negative he needs to be able to back teams off the line of scrimmage by having some sort of accuracy in the short to mid range passing game. He has to be able to make completions on first or second down and complete a fricking 5 to 10 yard pass for first downs. This game manager lable is bull shite he and any "game manager" has to be able to make plays when called upon.

Golfcarts don't have 40 inch verticals, 84 inch wingspans and run 4.4 40's.

Neither do the vast majority of high school receivers.

Right because QB's don't improve after each year. They are basically the same skill level leaving their senior year as they were coming in freshman year.

You're not wrong. But, to be fair, you cited a pass pre-injury and a pass post-injury. Not saying his injury was the cause of all his passing woes (he missed high early in the season as well). But the caveat exists.

Also, if you notice that dime from the bama game, Dural has his eyes on the ball and adjusts his path. Golf carts and high school WRs are notoriously bad at doing that.

Truth is, Odell and Juice bailed Mett out quite a few times. Harris does need to learn to control his velocity though.

Funny, funny thread. Guys, good QBs are insanely accurate against air. Even average QBs are too. This is hard to spin into a positive.

Just a average every year Arkansas Quarterback ..Lsu would have at least 3 more national championships added to the four already.

when the qb's were throwing deep at the camp, probably 90% of the WR's slowed down when the ball was thrown, then watched the ball go about 2 yards to far. Completing any deep ball to most of them was very difficult.

For a lot of them, the receivers took so long to get to the cut, and then come out of the cut, some of them were doing play action and pump faking elsewhere just to try to buy time and stay in some kind of rythem in the pocket. An 8 yard slant should be a three step drop and fire away quickly, but with most of these, it was a three step drop, stand and wait a second, then throw. That was not completed much except for the few recievers who were fast enough to come out the cut and get to the ball. Then the qb's started adjusting and not throwing hard so they didn't kill some of them.

Really a pointless event to assess a qb's skill.

" less than great "

Harris doesn't have to be "great" in any aspect of his quarterback play. He has to be competent enough in a number of areas in order to move the chains.

To be honest, I am interested in knowing how Harris has progressed mentally Opposed to how he has progressed physically in is quarterback play .

I would suggest that we hold our water till September, but I know this is the Rant where emotional/all knowing posters run wild.

Most quarterbacks improve with the more time they are in a program. We will have to wait and see if this holds true for Mr. Harris.

Exactly the point I've been trying to make.

No one is saying Harris has cured all of his passing ills. But this isn't the measure to decide where he is in his progress.
