Occam's Razor: The simplest explanation is usually the correct one.

Recruit QB's that have demonstrated proven accuracy in high school.

Recruit real QB's, not "Great Athletes" that played QB in high school simply because they were the best athletes on the team and who were basically glorified running backs behind Center running a simple "One Read" Offense.

If that one read wasn't open, they took off running.
They get to LSU and are overwhelmed by Cam Cameron's playbook. The learning curve is too steep and they can't handle it mentally until they're in their 3rd or 4th season.

I think Miles is finally beginning to see the light (Or somebody has pointed it out to him) and it's reflected in the new found interest in offering scholarships to "Drop Back Passing QB's" that have shown an ability to throw the ball and some proficiency in reading defenses with their high school teams....

Show me high school qbs that can make 2nd and 3rd reads. Harris wasn't some dual threat spread option qb in high school. In fact his HS tape and Myles Brennan's HS tape look very similar.

Regardless, absolute bottom line is like what I heard one of the gurus on Jordy's radio show. I have more confidence in Lane Kiffen and WHOEVER may be the qb this season over there, than I do in Cam Cameron and Brandon Harris.

Really? Harris really struggled with accuracy until his senior season at Parkway.

2006 JRuss is the best qb in lsu history and its not debatable.

2001 Davey was a great season.. AGAIN its nOT all about stats.... Davey to reed was the best QB/WR combo in LSU history and its not even close.... Don't get me wrong here.. JR was a better overall QB at LSU than Davey.. But that offense in 2001 was special.... The defense??? Not so much....

Harris was pretty darn solid before his sports hernia.

I mean look at it like this, Harris was taking pointers at the Manning camp from a guy who is one of the leaders of ints in the NFL. So a guy that struggles with accuracy in the pros is the teacher here?

I think Harris will be just fine.

The one thing I will say I would really like to see is Cam on the sidelines and not up in the booth. That seemed to make Harris more comfortable. Better talking face to face rather than through some phone or headset.

FWIW, its easier to hit a slow moving target than a faster one

Wrong! It's easiest for these QBs to hit targets that look like, and run like, what they've been throwing to all their lives. Stopped or about 18 mph, that's the ticket.

it sure as hell can. if the mechanics are correct then it's lack of focus or not leading properly. there are drills that can improve both of the latter and the mechanics can be taught if the learner is serious about learning.

baseball pitchers spend countless hours on their mechanics and release point. it works.

Harris' s problem coming out of HS was accuracy and consistency.
It has always been the issue.

Well, if Harris isn't better than last year, look at the bright side. He'll only be here one more year. Sounds kinda familiar doesn't it ?

I understand that but you'll have to admit that Eli in the past couple seasons has had issues with his accuracy. That's all I was saying.

Peyton also was a teacher at the MANNNG passing academy, he's one of the best NFL QBs of all time
