NS is the man. NS was the same age as my oldest son, and I coached him in youth baseball and basketball in Larose.

Nicky is now into the professional red fishing tour, and I occasionally see him and we talk about the old days when I coached him.

One of my greatest pleasures in life is having a former player that I coached come to me an talk about old times.

I remember on one of Todd’s zig zagging returns for a TD, a kid got blindsided trying to catch Todd. Wasn’t sure he would be able to leave the field on his own.

Greg Jackson hit a Bama receiver in the back so viciously I thought the guy was dead.

The announcers and crowd were whispering for like five minutes as his lifeless body laid on the field.

I believe that was Michael Clayton, #14.

Yep

Around 10:50 on this video

Definitely reminds me of the Jarvis Landry hits against Auburn in 2011 just 10 years later. Both Clayton and Landry would go on to be standout WRs.

Steve Rehage was an absolute headhunter back in the 80’s. One of the hardest hitters I’ve ever seen.

I'm not sure if you meant to reply to me or not because of what you quoted, but we didn't lose 4 or 5 games in 2011 so I'm assuming you meant to quote my post, but no I was referring to 2001. The Landry hits in 2011 were reminiscent but check out my previous post, I posted the video

Brandon had a good one vs Miss St 2007

Lafell vs Miss ST

I was thinking about that one the other day actually. That would be a blindside hit and a flag today, it's amazing how they pussified the game so much and that's just 13 years ago

Wasn't there a mississippi state player that got hit in back to back trips to LSU? I believe that both hits occurred on kicks and both hits ended his game. Think Loston may have delivered one of them

Yeah that's was pretty wicked.

I always thought the hardest hit was on kick off team coverage with Michael Clayton gunning and killing a aubie dude. At least I think it was aubie maybe kentucky??? Really laid the wood.

College football has ruined the most exciting play of the game by pretty much getting rid of the kickoff return.

Don't forget jarvis landry also laid the hat

Richard Picou on all American rb from Bama Jonny Musso. Brought out the stretcher. Charlie Mac beat the bear that day if I remember correctly.

I'll be damned! I swear I was just about to post this myself!! LOLOL Pretty sure it was 1969, and LSU DID win that game. Awesome!
