So let ask you....what kind of offense would it have looked like with Max having Marshall and Gilbert and Emory and TDP?

Well considering Marshall was available for about 30% of Johnson’s passing attempts this year, and Gilbert was available for about 40% - and considering I’ve looked at the stats for attempts when they weren’t available and attempts when they were - I’d say the offense looked about the same.

Yes, those guys pose a matchup problem and you would certainly rather have them on the field as a QB. At the same time, you’re dismissing the fact that other than Terrace Marshall, our entire receiving corps had zero combined starts prior to the Mississippi State game. You don’t think Boutte got better as the season went on? Or Koy Moore? Or Jenkins?

As far as Emery and TDP - he actually had both available for the first half of the Florida game. But putting that aside for a moment - those two combined for 3.9 yards per rush and 6 catches TOTAL in the Mississippi State and Mizzou games. TDP had more production in the first half of the Florida game than he did in the entirety of the Mississippi State or Mizzou games. Similarly, Emery had more scrimmage yards in the first half of the Florida game than he did in the entire Mizzou game.

I already stated I was on board with MB at start of the year and was pumped for it to be his time.....with that said, IDGAF about what you’re stats say....I see a winner that finds a way to get it done in Max. I don’t see it MB.

You’re talking about 4 games that were decided by an average of 5.5 points. We had late 4th quarter leads in all 4 games. The difference is:
- Miss State: Defense gives up a 7 play, 71 yard TD drive. LSU loses.
- Mizzou: Defense gives up a 4 play, 77 yard TD drive. LSU loses.
- Florida: Defense gets a red zone stop forcing Florida to kick a FG (tying instead of taking the lead on a TD), and then we get a lucky shoe toss that gets us out of a 4th & 6 situation. LSU gets into FG range and wins.
- Ole Miss: Matt Corral fumbles on the LSU 28 yard line. LSU wins.

Look, I agree that Max looked pretty damned good in his two starts. If the coaching staff thinks Max is the best option for 2021, I’ll believe them and continue to cheer for the kid.

At the same time, the whole “Max is a winner and Myles is not” thing is asinine when our defense gave up a combined 476 yards and 41 points above Mississippi State’s and Mizzou’s offensive averages.

My hope is they’ll see how one hit creates an opening. No one thought Myles would have to sit, but he did. We need to maintain depth at QB. Seems so obvious, but not when you’re 18 or 19

Max isn’t a top level div 1 qb. Anyone doubting this watch the film of how many out route weak arm throws he made that the defense dropped easy pics. UF had 4 that comes to mind.

This is just false. Completely made up. Please provide links to FOUR (4) Florida drops of weak out routes.

how does our next OC decide if there’s no spring game?

Why would there be no spring game? Maybe no fans, but a simulated game at practice? We’re playing games and practicing now. In spring we’ll have a third of our population vaccinated.

Hester and Hanny both considered it a possibility of LSU having no spring session but you make a valid point. Of course a new strain of Covid could change all that.

That is where at leaders need to step up and organize something outside

The first three games There were way more drops than with Max. With Max there were more misses by the QB. So IMO Brennan is much more accurate. Max is a better runner, no question about that. Both are good leaders. The team is more responsive to them.
