I think Johnson is probably better but the smart move from a confidence standpoint would be to start Brennan (on an extremely short leash) and bring Johnson in as well. Having 2 starting qb's is a luxury and if you start Johnson game 1 Brennan's confidence may plummet IMO.

Shows how little you know about what is really going on this summer with the QBs and receivers. ALL QBs and ALL receivers work out 3 days a week. Brennan schedules additional work outs with his receivers and running backs the other days immediately after work outs and conditioning in the morning.
Brennan is the only QB working additional time with teammates.

I hear this, and I hear people say that Max is watching film all the time while Brennan just messes around.
So you hear a lot of bullshite?

He scored 40 points. The defense is who looked timid.

Also overlooking the fact that Brennan was playing with a bunch of guys getting their first starts (including in a game that was moved to Missouri at the last minute) while the team Max played with had a season of experience under their belts.
I don't know if that is your best argument here. Brennan had Marshall, McMath, and Gilbert among the starting pass catcher. Johnson had none of those three. Brennan had all 3 primary RBs available in his games. Johnson lost TDP and Emery early in the 2nd half vs. Florida. Neither played vs. OM. It is a big reason why Johnson had a combined 32 carries in those games.
There are many good arguments to make in Brennan's favor. That he played with a lesser supporting cast isn't one of them

O wouldn’t be speaking in code if the upper classman was the starter
Him saying it will be obvious means it’s not conventional wisdom … people need to see it
What haven’t we seen ?
MJs surge to the front, that’s what bc we don’t have access
The people who do have access like some students here and former players like Rohan are saying it’s Max
The only question now is if MB can win the locker room enough to take it back

A UF Gators writer thinks pretty highly of Brennan as well:
quote:
Bob Redman, who covers the Gators for 247Sports, was one of several writers this week who made some predictions for the sports network.
One of the predictions that Redman made is that Brennan will receive Heisman Trophy votes this upcoming season (he also predicted that LSU will lose a close game to Alabama).
“LSU gives Alabama all they want when they play but falls in a close game at the end. Myles Brennan becomes the top Heisman vote-getter in the SEC,” said Redman.
quote:
I absolutely think Brennan could receive Heisman Trophy votes in 2021. He was on a Heisman Trophy-like pace in 2020 before an abdomen injury sidelined him for the final seven games of the season.

I agree, I don't think Brennan would hang around if he wasn't projected to be the starter.
Absolutely this right here. But like others have said, short leash I am sure.

To catch up??

Need to let Max start but Brennan get to play meaningful snaps throughout the year. Makes defense have to prepare for both quarterbacks each week.
Sometimes I really think some people on this site don't watch any football at all and just read about games that happened 20 years ago.

If it's Myles, I hope the o-line plays elite. That's all.
