re: Hannagriff “CBS most likely to pay big bucks to move Ala vs LSU to a night game”

Why would ESPN give up this game?? Just curious.
CBS would pay ESPN for permission to broadcast an SEC game in prime time. ESPN has other options for prime time CFB games, CBS does not. Also CBS has a larger reach than ESPN so they could (in theory) bring in more advertising money.
It can be a win-win for ESPN and CBS if:
1. CBS can justify the cost to buy out ESPN based on the additional ad revenue from airing LSU/Bama in prime time plus having an additional game (UGA/Mizzou?) in the 2:30 slot.
2. ESPN can make more money from the buyout plus replacement games than they would if LSU/Bama was played in the 2:30 slot.
There are a lot of moving pieces so it still seems like a reach, but there’s certainly a possibility that it works out for both sides.

I’d rather it be at 11:00 am, SEC Network.

GG seemed pretty sure it'd stay at 2:30 on Twitter earlier today, so who knows at this point?

Great - listening to Gary slobber all over Saban's dick is always fun.
did you guys ever stop to think the reason Gary slobbers over Bama (assuming that he does) is that they've been the dominant team in the SEC for a decade?
Great teams/players/coaches tend to get a lot of praise. I fail to see how this is surprising.
Want it to change? Beat Bama.
No - Danielson should remain unbiased in his reporting of the game and he is anything but that. These guys are there to provide color and insight into the game - he does neither with his constant slobbering on Saban's knob.

It is important to note that LSU is 1-0 all time vs Alabama in CBS/ESPN Buyout games

I really wish SEC on CBS was not a thing
Why?
CBS has always had the best graphics and best quality picture.
Going back to the Gator Bowl in 1987, CBS has been the best.
I remember hearing LSU fans clamor for LSU to be back on CBS during CBS’s hiatus from CFB from 1989-1995, spouting off on how they didn’t like ABC or Jefferson Pilot.
I guess people will complain about anything given the chance.

Yes!!
They talk entirely too much, way too many commercials, and they’re ALWAYS missing plays showing some stat board or lineup on the screen that NOBODY cares about.

I have a salary job and do not work on weekends. It was an example of why people (not just me) would dvr a game. Truth be told, I almost NEVER watch a game live. I wait about an hour or hour and a half before I start watching, because I fricking hate commercials, and hate having to wait 4 minutes with anticipation for the next play.
Maybe you should try to not be such a patronizing a-hole. I'd rather be a husband and a father and enjoy my family time, or cut my grass or do whatever the frick I want to do instead of having to be in front of my TV at whatever dumb frick time some network decides the game should be played. The only time I watch a game live is when I am present at the stadium, or when I'm at a party / friends house who would rather end the good time we're having outside to watch the game live as opposed to continue the fun and come in 90 minutes later so we could skip commercials and the dumb arse half time show.

Nothing silly about it. They can air the same amount of games every week, but schedule the games to start a little further apart. They decide what time the games start. If the average televised game averages 3 hours and 38 minutes, then scheduling the next game to start at 3 hours and 30 minutes later is going to result in multiple games each week where the start has to be aired on another ESPN.
I'm not arguing CBS is a better network for college football. I'm simply stating you don't have this problem with CBS - at least not at a weekly rate you experience it on ESPN, so if a game is moved to CBS, at least you can almost guarantee you'll be able to see all of it.

ESPN does not own the LSU-Bama game.
CBS has first dibs, and will select it for a 2:30pm start time.

Because Muffin Mitts stays on the field more than the teams. Next time you go to a CBS game live, watch how much the teams sit around waiting for the TV Muffin Man to let them play. CBS legitimately adds 45 minutes to an hour to any game they broadcast.
