It actually all started when your dad met your mom at Applebee's 2 for 1 night long, long ago.

So it started before LSU won 2 championships?

I couldn't imagine being a Tennessee fan and posting on an LSU message board. Interesting life choices by OP.

Y'all need a new narrative, because the current Baseball Sycophantic "2 Championships" aint cuttin it anymore.
Past success should have absolutely no bearing on the current state of the program and it's not just about a normally "acceptable" down year of not winning the SEC or not finishing in the Top Ten.
What's going on now is just a totally unacceptable meltdown and unprecedented downfall of LSU Baseball, which should never happen at this level of decline.
It's not just normal LSU Baseball P-Tard Sycophant "That's Baseball" BS either.
In their never ending quest for excuses whenever any LSU team chokes on a rope, out of the woodwork come all the nutty and goofy MA's (Mediocrity Acceptors) frantically trying to make it all seem perfectly "Just Fine" and acceptable.
How does the Million Dollar Head Coach allow a team to fall this far in one season? LSU aint payin Jay Johnson the Big Bucks to allow this kind of "Dysfunctional Downfall & Decline" to materialize into Reality. It's Real, but it's not so Spectacular at all.
Millionaire Jay got ONE OFF-SEASON TO FIX THE MESS.
IF the program is not "Back to Normal" After the 2027 season, then all bets are off!

I mean…… I get it but you/we have been so spoiled during Jay’s tenure. There are 15 teams in NCAA baseball HISTORY…..
HISTORY, that have at least two titles. We have had that in the last 3 seasons under Jay.
Unacceptable… yes
Concerning… Yes
“One season to fix this mess”…. No

We have to bow to Indiana’s long standing athletic tradition in football. The record speaks for itself.

I posted a hundred times about Scott Woodward, the increase to 34 roster spots from the 11.7 scholarships and how he funded it. It falls on deaf ears; so I surrender. But that problem has been solved and then some.

Apologies to the band geeks who aren't as retarded as semjase.
I have no issues with band geeks; several of my friends were.

I'm a Vitello fan not a TN fan, that's why there was a bidding war for his services at the highest level. He's the best developer of players we have ever seen. Even if his time at TN rustled all your jimmies you should step back and soak in his incredible ability to coach the game.

I'm not in the "fire Jay" camp, and I fully appreciate that he's won 2 national titles the past 3 seasons. That does, and should, buy him a good bit of slack.
But I'd say he's used a lot of that slack up. LSU is rightfully considered the baseball equivalent of a Duke or UConn basketball program, where expectations are to be good every year, and you can have multiple title runs. We have the history, the financial resources, the fan support (many LSU fans consider baseball to be the #2 overall sport here, ahead of basketball). We are paying the coach top dollar, and have been aggressive in the portal (as well as regular recruiting).
This isn't an "off year", where we finish 500 in the SEC and end up a 2 seed somewhere. This is a cratering, on par with the football program collapsing in 2020, but without the covid excuse some use to justify that one.
Spare me the "we lost a lot of players" crap; other schools lose players too. Arkansas, etc don't get to keep players any longer than we do, simply because they didn't win a title. Yet somehow, they seem to keep putting competitive teams on the field every season.
"But Arkansas hasn't won a natty",... that's right. We have. We should therefore have better recruiting and support. We should be a better program than them, consistently.
I say Jay's seat should be warm. Another season like this next year, don't make a regional 2 yrs in a row, and I'm fine with looking around to see if there's someone else out there we want.

No we don’t. Every counter argument is retarded.

We aren't talking about 10 or 20 years ago. They won the national championship just last year with the same coach. You're acting like the program has just been in shambles since Jay got here.
He admittedly missed on some portal guys and has said they need to reevaluate their process with that. Its going to happen from time to time in this new world of college sports where basically every year you have to rebuild your team. You're not always going hit homeruns with all the transfers and have a national championship caliber team. Im very confident that Jay will get this fixed in short order and next year's team will be back where LSU baseball is accustomed.
