NIL is a real game changer for college baseball. Better players are more likely to go the college route than in the past. The guys who still get PAID going to MLB are still going to go they route.

The next tier down leaves a real decision. Do I want to go live the college experience for a few years, probably get paid more than in the minors, get laid more than in the minors, not ride a bus around Mississippi playing minor league ball etc.

I’m choosing college every time.

And for the most part when you join MLB your time in college mostly counts as “time served” in the minors with regards to how quickly you get to the majors.

The only downside is you’re arbitration eligible at an older age but how many guys make it there?
