Lots of speculation that she wants to leave so she can get more experience ball handling (instead jokes here) and controlling the floor to get ready for the next level. Most people expect her to go to LSU or Iowa with LSU having the edge of Mulkey who has gotten a lot of attention lately for letting her players have big personalities. She also wouldn’t have to share the spotlight with Clark, a high school rival.

HVL is a Mulkey type of player in regards to how she played. I think that she would be a welcomed addition to LSU or any team for that matter.

Just what I’ve read and heard from sports sites on YouTube. That comment was made several times in the comment sections. As I said, that was the frequent speculation from multiple commentators. I’m certainly no expert and don’t have secret sources.

Clark is from Iowa, Van Lith is from Washington state, so not likely they were rivals in high school.

HVL & Caitlyn were actually roommates on the USA team.
That link is about the only factor why HVL might consider Iowa. While it wouldn't guarantee Iowa as a tournament favorite bc they have frontcourt issues, but it'd be the best backcourt probably ever assembled.
However, at LSU, she could get a larger NIL, play for the championship-winning coach she almost picked outright last time, play on what would become the decided tournament favorite for her chance at a ring, and wouldn't play second fiddle to another guard. HVL to LSU makes too much sense.

One has to wonder if coaches outright admit this to recruits - “of course we’ll train you, feed you, board you, help you get a degree! You are our favorite and our program’s future!!! … until a better player says they want to come here. We’ll even promise them they’ll start as an enticement - won’t even be a competition…”

Sure. Virtually every elite player competes against the other elite players in AAU.
I don't think anyone would consider that "high school rivals"
Under no scenario were they high school rivals.
