I seriously doubt they give that much of a shite if 75k people are in the stadium vs 100k for these type of games. They got your money once they sell the tickets anyway.

They actually do care because they make a lot of money off of concessions and parking now. Alleva kept talking about people actually showing up for the games last year.

Making parking more expensive and an even bigger pain in the arse will just drive away more people for the smaller games.

Crap game or not, if you're serious about LSU Tailgating, you tailgate the Home Opener.

Look at the ticket exchange for your answer. I saw someone earlier trying to sell 2 in 237 for 860 dollars. That is almost a 50% cut. He still had bumped the thread several times in the last week. Season tickets are a losing propitiation.

There are 3 top 15 matchups at the same time. I don't know if I'd bother going to the game if I still lived on campus. Game should be at 3 PM

You'll certainly be handed tickets to this game if you are willing to try to find some for free.
You will not even have to try. Just show up at the stadium and tickets will be plentiful everywhere. If you have patience and wait long enough, you'll get in free or 5 bucks...........

That article you linked was written when capacity was only 92,000. Place seats 10,000 more today.

Yes I'm well aware. My whole point was we rarely, if ever hit 90k before the expansion. If we were averaging 20k no shows for non-conference games, doing the math that's roughly 20-25% no shows. If we use our thinking caps and extrapolate a similar no show rate, we could expect between 75-80k people.

Even for SEC games we averaged a 10% no show rate. So I still stand by my statement that we've had probably 5, no more than 10 games over 90k in our history.

Still waiting for someone to refute my statement with facts.

I myself am looking forward to Saturday night in Death Valley. This will be my 4 year old boy first game and finally a September game when it's not freaking miserably hot. I'm also looking forward to seeing the new Mike and seeing Miles sling a few TDs.

LSU can't fill the stadium as is. Their solution

Why are people always looking at this from a negative perspective?

While We go to every home game, we live 3 miles from campus and have season tickets to Football and Baseball.

I don't fault non-BR residents for watching some cupcake football/baseball games on the SEC Network(a big reason for decreased attendance), even if it's less fans in the stadium on occasion.
LSU event viewership on SEC network is stellar for Football/Gymnastics and outright dominant for Baseball.

Meanwhile season ticket holders pay 98 per seat in the south end zone.

Way to go out on a limb there, big guy. Tiger Stadium did not even seat 90k+ fans until the expansion of the east upper deck in 2000. Then, as your article points out, ticket scanners were not installed to count actual attendance numbers until th 2007 season. Thus, actual attendance could not be accurately totaled until that time.

With the south end zone expansion being completed in 2014, LSU has only had 3 seasons where the actual attendance required to meet the 90k figure did not require near 98% capacity. Given that LSU plays 4 SEC home games a year (with this year being the exception), usually 2-3 of those teams being ranked opponents, it seems pretty logical to conclude LSU has likely hit 90k in actual attendance 5 to 10 games during that time. So, puff that chest out a little further, because your bold statement will not be refuted. Congrats.

I'm not puffing my chest out. Just pointing out the reality, brohan davey, because people seem to get offended when you use facts.
