Our only hope is Saban to agree to be coach. You know he is not going to put up with anyone meddling in the program. Someone of his stature may actually keep the governor from controlling everything from university to athletics.
With Landry having such a heavy hand now, it will be difficult to attract a top flight coach.

This is so silly.
Landry didn't interfere with Kelly any more than he will the next coach. He's not calling X's and O's or doing anything else that will impact the next coach in the least.
You guys are being counterproductive piling on with the media on all this horseshite and helping create a BS narrative.
AD search, president, yes, but the next football coach will have full autonomy just as Kelly did, and hopefully will do a better job. Seriously, grow up.

The mental gymnastics about Saban is a bit much.
I love him as a coach I think he a fantastic leader and would love to have him.
He quit because he didn't like the NIL and kids got soft and he didn't want to kiss their arse so they dont transfer ect .
He had everything at bama and still decided to retire.
The bullshite that pushed him to retire has only gotten worse. Money will not change that.

Seems to me Verges status as AD is entirely contingent on him reeling in Saban.

It’s interesting to see people ignore the obvious explanation that is bad for the extraordinary explanation that gives what they want.

Saban is a lock, this is from a very highly placed TAF source. Theyre putting the money together, only a few details are left to be ironed out.
