I can appreciate having a passion for one's university/college but these grown folks are an embarrassment to themselves....far too much time on their hands.

Sounds familiar in these parts.

So why were they idiot enough to back up a Brinks truck to De-boring?

We live outside Birmingham and had a short day trip today. Just turned on JOX sports radio and listened to the absolute melt all the way there and back.

He was the hot name on the market at the time from his short-term success at Washington. No sustained track record so it was a bad gamble. I believe Lanning was their top target and he wisely passed. Not sure if they pursued Dabo or not since he is Bama alum.

With a potential $70M buyout of DeBoer, plus the $12M buyout of his contract at Washington, a buyout of his current staffs' contracts......on top of the millions any new head coach would require, his staffs', there is no way bama could afford the close to $100M+ it would cost to fire DeBoer. And to then leave him as a lame duck coach, that would kill recruiting. bama needs to win, big, or they are screwed.

Their AD will eventually get canned over this too. Will be glorious watching it all burn to the ground.

Coach O can recruit and Bama can pay. That would be trouble.

You absolutely nailed it! Saban knew his arse was in a crack because everyone could/can “buy” players

Everyone has always bought players — LSU included. Acting like NIL suddenly ended Saban’s edge is ridiculous. He was one play from the title game in his last season, but he knew Milroe had peaked, was tired of entitled players chasing checks, and fed up with spoiled boosters demanding guarantees. Saban with this roster and last year’s roster easily makes the playoffs. At 72, he was done. Just admit it — Saban was a badass who walked away at the perfect time.

lol no. Bama continues to out recruit almost everyone. NIL did not change that. You act like his recruiting classes tanked after NIL. They have loads of talented players coming in, though that may change this year. He left DeBoer with a stacked team that he would’ve easily had in the playoffs. DeBoer is just in way over his head.

Actually coach O would be the perfect fix for Alabama. I promise you kids wouldn't be ordering door dash at 1am, bringing stuffed animals to practice, jogging during a play etc. He would whip some serious arse and get them to give max effort.

Problem is, he would never take that fricking job, he's an LSU tiger until the day he dies.

NIL plus unlimited transferring is what ended Saban’s run

I actually know LSU fans who think (prior to Clemson game) O was still a better choice
