Officials are individual human beings that have different thresholds for things like this. Some refs are tight-asses, others let more go. Just like coahes, teachers, bosses, parents.

There's no deep, dark, nafarious conspiracy going on. If you look hard enough, you'll always be able to find plenty of ammo to support your confirmation bias. But it's really not there.

And this is exactly why there needs to be a standard in officiating....how are players supposed to know what is acceptable and unacceptable if the officials can’t be consistent on a week to week basis.
