you need to raise your expectations for our defense. Florida was led by Franks. Our defense shouldn't allow that team to have 2 drives over 75 yds...but go on and put ALL the blame on the offense. At least I can be honest and say the offense sucked but the defense didn't have a great game considering the offense they faced.

If aranda has underachieved, what do we call what ensminger has done?
Hes a top 20 paid oc and we havent sniffed a top 20 offense during his tenure.
Seems weird to attack aranda when hes kept the ship afloat with a sinking offense.

You do realize that Florida is an SEC team, right? They aren't from the Sun Belt. Why do you have this expectation that another SEC team isn't going to put a couple of drives together?

I find it distressing that we can only win game where the defense is "on." They have an off game, we lose. That's a problem.

not a fan of dildeaux but aranda has yet to field a top 3 ranked D like pellini, chavis and saban/muschamp did here.
of course he is a very good DC. maybe some feel he is over rated by that stat along with his pay?

this isn't about the offense. nobody is defending our offense and saying they don't need to get better. I can't believe some of you have lowered the expectations for our defense.

I don't think anyone has. It's just that you and others are fixating on a sprained ankle when the cardiac arrest, terminal cancer and slit throat are much more problematic. The offense is why we fired the last coach. The offense is what O promised to fix. The offense is still a problem. I think that we're just focused on the more critical expectations.

It's disingenuous to say both units need to get better. It'd be nice if one unit got better. It's imperative that the other unit gets better. Do I have to explain to you which is which?

I don't think that being absolutely flawless and shutting out every opponent is a realistic standard to place on any defense. We've had a championship-caliber defense every year under Aranda, including last year. It's funny that giving up 1 TD drive and 6 points in the 2nd half against UF is akin to Aranda "blowing the game" to some, but I guess that's how it goes around here.

You know, two things can both be true. Our offense didn't play well against Florida, and neither did our defense. That's why we lost to a Florida team that was clearly inferior to LSU.
