This is stupid. Remember 2004? Russel was fat and lazy so Saban had Randall start and we know it's costing us now. Facility wise LSU has improved every year under Miles. Talent wise there is a lot to work with.

Gilbo more interested in controversy than a good story. There are a number of other writers and LSU fans like him. They bore me quickly.

Orgeron should not realistically be expected to be a national championship player until about 2019.

It'll likely be this same story in 2019 except it will read 2021. The excuse then will be that Aranda and Canada both just left for HC positions and now we must give the new coordinators time.

GG is a lot better than most on here give him credit for. He tells it like it is without having p&g glasses on.

Where do you see those losses coming? Auburn? Florida? Aside from Bama, LSU should outtalent everyone on the schedule. Of course, youth at key positions can always bite you but the Tigers should be favored in 11/12 regular season games.

SECW title in 2017 or else Alleva should be fired.

It's going to be funny to watch the clowns who were claiming that any coach could win ten or more games at LSU because we had more talent here than any other school not named Alabama suddenly back peddling like crazy to find excuses to explain why we win 9-10 games next year.

Well I agree with him...... I do not care if you like it or not...I am a HUGE LSU fan... but Miles had it made when he got here.... he had ONE great year with HIS recruits... 2011 and failed when it mattered most ... that is FACT...... O has some work to do , but has some great assistants to help him get the job done....

Guilbeau... We are short on OTs, LBs, and currently a championship style QB, we may have them coming in this year? But to say our OL isn't talented is dumb, it's full of OG but they are talented. With Aranda on D this DL and our LBs we have coming back, Canada, I'll say it now we will have a better season in 2017 then we did this year. We have some talent but yes we do have work to do in some areas. To be where Bama is we need about 3 to 4 years of O getting his players here. To say we couldn't beat anyone at any given time with what we have is retarded bc we can, couldn't with miles but with this staff yes sir we can. We lost to Bama that was it the FL game LSU beat them selves, which is why Miles is gone BC LSU beat them selves all THE TIME. This is the TRUTH not all that babble dabble in this piece. This man is a joke... If we end this recruiting cycle with some great MLBs, Mathis, Wilson, Chassion, Harris, we will know LSU is in good hands as for as recruiting goes. May even flip Akers? Not likely but possible, if not then we will find out what this staff as a whole will do in next years class and I'll judge then. We can turn this thing around quick. That trend of LSU beating themselves is over, new era baby! Time for change Tigers!

This team doesn't have a QB, we're losing a lot of talent on D. Injuries happen every year. Even really good teams drop a game that they shouldn't.

10 wins would be an unqualified success. It's a long shot IMO but attainable. People thinking we'll go 11-1 are wacko.

think the program is stronger today than when Miles took over.

We recruit a wider geographical area, the LSU brand is significantly stronger, and the facilities and money have continued to improve.

Say what you want about Miles. But, one thing he did do at an exceptional level was keep the "Program" running at an extremely high level. It's why I was never that concerned about him underperforming. The program never took a step backwards, and at the point where a change was going to be made, whoever took over was going to be able to hit the ground running.

This is a spot on post.

frick Guilbeau.

His main argument is no first rounders on the OL??? How many first round OL did Miles inherit?? I'll hang up and listen.

And I'm not clicking that loser's article, but does he mention anything about the top 3 class that Miles had built for O to take over versus the handful of recruits that Saban had lined up in his final class that wasn't even ranked in the top 25 when Miles came to BR??

It was a miracle Miles even managed to get 15 recruits or whatever it was and were barely ranked in the top 20.

That left a HUGE hole in the roster that was as much a part of the 2008-09 dip as losing Perilloux was. Anyone that doesn't understand how much of a liability that was doesn't know shite about recruiting, so it doesn't surprise me Glen wouldn't consider that.

And how about staff?

Tell me, who would you prefer to inherit on a coaching staff, 05 Jimbo or 17 Aranda??

Miles left one of the best coaching staffs in the country for O to take advantage of, with the exception of OC (which he appears to have filled well)

And GG is so desperate to take one final parting shot against Miles that he doesn't even realize how stupid he looks by making it a Miles vs Saban analysis. O is inheriting the same prestige that Saban lent the program that Miles did, only with an additional 12 years of shine on the brand.

You can't separate Sabans LSU from Miles' program. It is a part of it.

I inherits a program that hasn't missed a bowl or win less than 8 games in 17 fricking seasons. Miles inherited a program with two or three really good seasons in its last fifteen.

God damn what a complete fricking hack loser.

Considering the strength of the past four classes and the stellar coaching staff that O walked in to, to say that he deserves some sort of grace period is comically disingenuous and hypocritical.

The local media hacks will never allow O take an ounce of blame no matter what happens on the field because they aren't willing to lose their all access pass that the O regime gives them.

If TLDR, summary is frick that nerd GG

GG is correct !!!!! 05 team was loaded at every position and a lot of that goes to Jimbo fisher!!!! Per DD- LSU has shifter it's OL recruiting to BIGGER and more highly rated OL and this years class is a clear example. LSU has 4 committed OL, 4* Austin Deculus, S Charles, Edward Ingram & 3* Seth Steward AVG size about 6-5 320 pounds and on Defense LSU is poised to land 5* M Wilson 6-4 330 pounds and already committed Tyler Sheldon 6-3 367 pounds. The point is that LSU recognizes that it needs to put a greater emphasis in recruiting bigger players in the trenches and is moving in that direction. It's a GREAT time for TIGER FANS !!!!

Miles’ best parting gifts to Orgeron were unquestionably Guice and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda. The offensive line he leaves, though, may be the worst of his 12-year tenure. Orgeron was reminded of that clearly in the 10-0 loss to Alabama.

Glenn, you know better than this. This is just stupid to leave it at two.

quote:

o, you may not want to hear this, but Orgeron deserves a significant grace period – much more than Miles, who admitted above that he inherited “everything.”

Agreed, but it will not work out that way. That's unfortunate for Ed.

quote:

Orgeron nailed it after the Alabama game when he said LSU needs some first round picks on its offensive line to go against Alabama’s first round picks on its defensive line. And I’d get some quarterbacks, too. Not sure about the two coming in.

He said that with a nothing-to lose mentality at the time. I would doubt he'd say such a thing in 2017 with a 5-5 record after Bama, as the FOR SURE HEAD COACH. Some statements are more affordable to make in situations that demand the best of the courtesy that you do obtain at the time.

quote:

“We look forward to building a championship program here,” Orgeron said after the game Saturday. “We’ve got work to do."

I believe him.

^This is one of GG's better columns. He has plenty to build upon.

You need to let Miles go as LSU did months ago. Failures now, if there are any, fall on the shoulders of O and Alleva.

Recruiting rankings, facility and stadium upgrades would say other wise imo.

We can talk oline. Saban didn't recruit that position so well before he left, including the fact we had a small class in 05. those would be the guys that were upperclassmen in 08 and 09. Those lines weren't great.

Basically I think Gullibeau isn't looking at the whole picture and never really does. Just stirs up shite and the idiots fall for it.
