Looks like we will likely only need a TE coach if all the rumors are correct. And we likely have a guy picked for that. But I wouldn’t have minded getting McMahon back as STC since it’s been an issues lately and he did a great job before.

We need someone to coach the TE and Special Teams.. We only have room for one more coach.

I've said it before and I'll say it again one of BK's biggest errors here was running off McMahon

Yea I’ve heard Jansen or diaco as analyst may do ST. I also head Olsen has some ST experience as an analyst

I assume both of Bob and John will be analyst again. Maybe not.

Still surprised Lindsey didn’t stick around as an analyst for atleast 1 year.

Heard that name but I though I saw he also got hired or a new contract at Tulane.

I’ve heard an analyst from Alabama that used to be a TE coach for Bk at ND is another name.

the BK era has been the worst 2 year stretch of kickoff and punt return in my fandom lifetime for sure. And I’m fairly old.

Slade Nagel was one of the worst coaches on Tulane’s staff. As primary play caller, they had the 9th rated offense in the American with Pratt at QB and their skill players. Guy must be well connected or something. I wouldn’t want him touching our offense, maybe other than teaching guys to block.

Well that’s probably a high priority for a TE coach

What’s wrong with the kickoff team?

Good thing we’re not asking him to call our offense. He’s a well respected well connected coach that’s plugged into the state. Never said I wanted him as OC but lets not pretend that ST/TE is the most prestigious position on the staff

Not really, but most of it was out of the control of the special teams coach. Our kickoff coverage was terrible - that’s his fault. Our punter sucked, our kicker was average and our kickoffs were short. Those are not in his control.

Special teams have become much less important with most kickoffs being fair caught and red zone performance becoming the defining metric for defenses. No longer is field position an important statistic, or at least not as important as it used to be. If LSU gets the ball on its 10, instead of its 30, that just means Nabers or BTJ had to run 20 more yards at the end of one of the next five plays.

Good thing we averaged 2 punts a game.
