I mean telling a kid that if he doesn't practice then he won't start doesn't seem like abuse. It seems like coaches being honest with a player. Also I don't think athletic trainers are held liable if they don't diagnose a brain tumor. I am sure they thought he was having concussion symptoms or something like that.
This whole situation sucks but I don't feel like any of his accusations are true negligence or abuse.

I'm a lawyer and I fricking hate lawyers. Scumbag loser ambulance chaser filing this suit. When you play football you assume the risks

Brooks was given the option to not participate in practice but was “simultaneously told by the coaching staff that if he chose to sit out, someone else would take his place, such that he may lose his starting position,” the lawsuit says.
How stupid is this?
Obviously if you can’t practice or play someone else will play and you may not be able to start, if you can’t play.

This could simply be a necessity or last resort due to rising medical bills. Our healthcare system is fricked

Everyone always trying to sue literally fricks everyone else. Sick of the shite.

Medical malpractice, if that happened, is not a risk one assumes by playing football.

Brain cancer going undiagnosed isn’t a risk do football.
if our team was pushing player to ignore significant symptoms that’s on the staff. I love LSU and because i love LSU I want then to do the right thing.

They rehab sports injuries. Not diagnose Brain Cancer or recommend neurological referrals.
If he is repeatedly having neurological issues, it's absolutely the trainers/team doctor's job to refer them to someone who deals with that.

Fair, but even so, if you don’t practice you can lose your spot, right? I mean this is nothing out of the ordinary for typical coaching
Right. People painting this as anything beyond totally normal are disingenuous.
You don't practice or play, your starting job is in jeopardy. Also, your starting job is in jeopardy every day - even if you do play.

It’s not often that guys Greg’s age and who play football are diagnosed with the condition he has. I’m sure his symptoms were probably thought of being something else that wouldn’t be as serious, similar to being in concussion protocol. Unfortunately, catching it any earlier likely wouldn’t have changed much of the outcome. With surgery, especially brain surgery, there are always risks. With a medical liability suit, you need to prove 3 things, Duty, Breach of Duty, and injury. Breach of Duty may be hard to prove in a case like his due to the sensitivity of the surgery. No one can every guarantee a promising outcome.

I'm assuming it has more to do with them diagnosing with him something less severe, without even referring him to an actual neurologist.
I don't know the protocol of involving a specialist BUT I do know that first diagnoses are wrong something like 60% of the time. I feel for the guy but I do feels like he is mad that no one figured out his very unique and uncommon issue and its not really fair to those involved. I can guarantee that none of them have any experience with brain tumors at all.
Maybe LSU should hire a neurologist as part of the medical team going forward. I mean it can't hurt as far as concussions go anyway.

I see the other thread was deleted. This is a serious accusation against Kelly that, if true, will be his downfall. No way he could wiggle out of this accusation if there's any sort of truth to it.

there isn't anything earth shattering or damning about this.
I mean that's pretty standard for anyone missing any time for any reason.

What kind of problems ? You think they knew he had a brain tumor and told him to fight through it?? Makes no sense what you’re saying.
No but if he is constantly having to sit out of practice because he is passing out and throwing up with blurry vision, they should have probably sent him somewhere to get checked out instead of telling him to go sit on the sidelines.

Not only that, someone else eventually did take his spot when it was determined he could no longer play football. So its not like they even lied about anything. If you can't play, someone else will.

I really doubt Kelly would allow someone to practice if he knew he had problems.
Dude he made a kid film on an aerial lift during a storm leading to death, you really think this is far fetched?

So what's next then? Kids start suing their parents because the parents don't notice that their kids are sick?
Posted on 10/11/24 at 11:00 am to Bert Macklin FBI
How many 20 year olds are walking around with bad headaches caused by brain tumors? That is the last thing anyone is imagining.
Athletes get sent to OLOL for these situations when it calls for it. I believe a neurologist is supposed to be on standby for football games, but they don't in the middle of summer practice.

No he didn't. It was a windy day but not a storm. I am not defending his decision that day but I am saying that you should give accurate facts if you are gonna bring it up.
