The difference between Alabama and LSU is that Alabama can score points. Nick Saban decided a few years ago that his offense was not good enough, so he hired Lane Kiffin and implemented a spread offensive system.
And, just a few years later, here we are. Alabama has the best offense in the country.
To contrast: LSU fired Les Miles for his dreary and ineffective offenses, promoted a DL coach to fix the offense and then that DL coach promoted Les Miles' TE coach to run the offense.
It's pretty ridiculous on a simplified level, isn't it...?
