Cliffs:

1. Smith's conduct happened about two weeks before NIL became legal.

2. NCAA will retro new rules to punish student-athletes but not help.

3. Other kids who broke this rule got to pick a game in 2022, so why can't Smith pick one in 2023? You are punishing a kid for getting injured.

4. He suggested that Smith get a lawyer and sue the shite out of the NCAA. Essentially this wouldn't hold up in court.

5. Even FSU fans he spoke to said this ruling was BS, and they benefit from it.

Maybe the guy in charge of enforcement is a former FSU AD?

Truthfully I hope Maason suits up and see’s what the NCAA will do with him on field. You’re gonna delay a nationally televised game until I sit out? Would be my question to the NCAA.

I talked to my buddy who is an FSU fan about this and apparently, there is bad blood there.

All of that is true and valid and its the most aggravating point of all this. This is why the NCAA needs to be abolished.

So the game will be played and they ruled a forfeit for LSU. Sounds fantastic

It's a crappy situation. Kelly won't let anything make it crappier by doing something stupid.

He should lawyer up. File an injunction or appeal to delay the suspension. Then the week of Georgia st game, he can drop the appeal and serve the suspension then

Nobody would care. The win probably wouldn't be forfeited for at least five years anyway.

The US Supreme Court ruled athletes had the right to profit from their NIL on June 21st 2021.
How can Smith be punished for selling autographs in July of that year?

Knowingly playin an ineligible player is an immediate forfeit. There’s no investigation needed that would be the reason for the ruling to come down 5 years from now.

No, they would just vacate any wins he’s a part of this year, exclude us from the postseason, and if we kept playing him say we’re violating our probation for one of the other investigations and keep ramping up restrictions until we sit him for one game.

He’s going to sit out his one game and be done with it.

I’m actually disappointed in the legal advice our athletic department is getting. 1) The act occurred after the Supreme Court ruling 2) There is no legal justification for Kayshon being able to choose his week and not Maason. For neither of these issues to be raised in court on his behalf is a failure of legal advice.

How can you punish a kid for exercising his civil rights to profit from his NIL? A right athletes always had, but were prevented from using? The NCAA and their members should be glad they aren’t getting sued.
