Grant Delpit's Final Play as LSU Tiger

On the final play of the 2019 Jim Thorpe winners year, Grant Delpit makes a text book tackle forcing a fumble that seals the National Championship for the LSU Tigers. That fumble was recovered by none other than Derek Stingley Jr. The passing of the baton one could say. The Legend of DBU is well and strong and Grant Delpit's story will never be forgotten. What a way to go out.

Probably the passing of the 7 jersey as well.

Will miss him if he departs!!! Def will be passing that 7 on to Derek!

I hope not. Want stingley to keep his 24 and never hear his name called in a game bc he is doing his thing on the outside.

With all due respect, Chase is making the 1 jersey special at the WR position. I imagine that’s the number WRs will aspire to wear going forward.

Screw all of that:
Number 9, number 9, number 9!
Number 9, number 9, number 9!

If younger players aspire to be like Chase, great. I just hope we don’t start making other numbers a “thing” like we did the number 7. Then it just starts to get repetitive and mundane.

9 needs to be retired!!!

Really good points, I would have never put all that together.

Chase looks too sexy in the #1

That number is no longer available to anyone. Marcel is already looking for another jersey #.

Chase next year, Stingley 2021

Stingley recovered that ball so smoothly.
He's going to leave LSU an absolute legend.

Could be a very metaphoric play. Passing of the torch (ball) from one #7 to the next, assuming Stingley is that guy.

I think Stingley or Chase are by far your best 2 options for the title of #7. Chase seems pretty set with #1 so I see it going to Stingley. Chase may go the Cushenberry (was offensive #18 this year) route and wear a #7 patch on his jersey.

That second pic is a great synopsis of the entire game.

Booger in the background thinking "Now that Clemson's fumbled, it's gonna hard for them to score".

Agreed but #7 needs to be retired, too.
