Sorry but I’m not getting behind this. LSU needs to be a 40 year decision, not a 3 year one.

So, lets dispense with all this school nonsense, find some "Dawgs" and play footbaw

Some of y’all must be forgetting what conference and level of CFB that we play in.

If you want true student athletes you might want to become a fan of the Ivy League or a DII or III Program.

May be LSU should drop down to DII and put more of an emphasis on schooling and graduating. Yep, that would fill up TS on a Saturday night. I can just see us all filing to go watch guys that look similar in build and speed to what we all did 25 yrs ago.

Man- we go to TS to see genetically superior humans do super human things while wearing the purple and gold. Freaking gladiators in our version of the Coliseum. And we want our gladiators to beat the pulp out of the other team’s gladiators.

If they can get a piece of paper by the time that they leave, great.

If not, WGAF.

On to the next freak of nature to wear the Purple and Gold.

Yeah, I say the silent part out loud.

Anything else being spouted is BS.

He won’t graduate any champions, so don’t worry unless they are going to clutch onto that SEC West title from last year over the next decade while he is coach.

This entire thread clearly shows what a total and complete joke of what college sports has become.

The “student-athletes” aren’t students at all. They are all hired mercenaries wearing a universities uniforms.

We simply cheer for laundry. That’s it.

1) Well, yeah. Been like this for a while now. That’s how I’ve looked at a lot of the players on the team. Hell, they can now transfer and get paid more $ going from one school to another. That’s the very definition of a paid mercenary.

2) But it’s our P&G laundry and it’s fun to watch our colors win and whip arse.

When I write a post like this, I am fully aware that a large portion of the Rant doesn’t realize that it is deep sarcasm, and fully applauds the “yeah, F- all school” related messages.
And the notion that somebody, the Baws know not who, may pay them something while they play, means the Baws don’t actually have to care for their best interests. The players play for “LSU”, whatever that means in their new construct, and that means they work for the Baws. Who pay nothing.
Who cares if the Dawgs get educated.
The Baws get good football.

Interesting post considering when we had undisciplined teams everyone complained about the lack of discipline. Last night was rough. Defensive physicality is a major issue. The idea of going back to having 14 false starts in a game and the other ridiculous penalties and poor clock management we used to have to watch is just as infuriating in my opinion.

On the other hand, for a lot of these kids, the education opportunity they have may only be afforded to them in many scenarios because of football. We make Saturdays all about us because we are fans. I think it’s pretty short-sighted of a group of post-college or professional adults to say “The LSU college football team should just win. The student part should go to the way-side so I can see them win.”

Come back and talk to me when you are a productive member of society. I have spent plenty of $ on LSU. Sorry it upsets you that I love LSU sports and want them to be successful and win every game. Also I want them to graduate successful human beings and work towards the betterment of young adult lives.
