And it's hard to fathom that people think LSU acquires full grown tigers so they can be playthings for the football program rather than spectacular additions to a superb vet school.
Is this how you think the tradition started? That the first Mike and his successors were brought to Baton Rouge to sate the mighty vet school? You may want to read some school history. The original Mike was purchased by the AD and an athletic trainer, along with a swimming coach. The whole enterprise was driven by athletics and spectacle, and remained so for over seventy years. Only recently has it become fashionable amongst a certain meek, small demographic to pretend that LSU acquired Tigers primarily for scholarly study.

So you don't think the motives could have changed between 1936 and 2024?

Thank you for reminding us again and again, what a nitwit you are.
Your posts are absolutely vapid, but always assertive.
And this come from a poster who self designates as a nitwit.

good grief, Landry is doubling down on stupid and getting some REALLY bad advice...does he know anything about Mike's habitat being designated a tiger sanctuary and part of the deal was no trailer pre-game?

Do you actually believe that the university would invest money in purchasing and sustaining a live Tiger if that Tiger were not the mascot of the beloved football program? Of course they wouldn't. Anything else is fantasy that disregards eighty years of history. And up until 2015, Mikes were paraded around in front of the fans in TS, so any supposed change in motive must be a very recent development indeed.

Our USL Governor is again grandstanding on an issue he knows nothing about. LSU follow strict rules regarding its sanctuary . If it doesn’t follow those rules, LSU won’t get another Tiger.
Before he speaks, he needs to learn his subject. When he is confronted with the truth, he needs to read the 10 commandments that he posts in our schools instead of bearing false witness against Kim Mulkeywhen doubled down on his lies on Fox News.

Actually agree with him on this one.
The previous Mike got spooked by the fireworks - this one hasn’t had that experience.
You can have fireworks or a tiger - everyone has fireworks; no one else has a tiger.

Who gives a shite? Take away the stupid cannon and fireworks that can’t even be seen during the day games. That is generic try hard bullshite, Mike is tradition.

Yeah, I'm sure starting a petition will monopolize all of his time. If you had voted for him, you'd love the idea of doing this, though, right?

Politicians just don’t have a clue. They spend so much time sucking dick to get elected, they forget what is important. What a clown

No clue about what? It doesn’t make our state better per se, but this is a tradition that should be renewed. Giving into liberal bs constantly is tiresome. They ruin everything.

Mad? No but he’s more interested in culture war headlines than doing anything meaningful so far

Its cool idea to have a tiger on the field but he doesnt deserve that.

Doing what is best for the tiger isn't "liberal". It's called being decent.
