Eh. 2019 sucked but they won 20 sec games in 2018 and 17 in 2021. Just one down year.

I meant in postseason. Does anyone lose more home regionals/supers than Florida?

Other than Paul, of course.

You can't compare Ole Miss though, because they just don't have the same resources.

(ETA: Clearly I'm just re-living the coaching search in my head to bring up all the dumbest things we got to read)

I was talking about how often they lose at home in the post season. Bianco is famous for it.

ETA: I see where you’re coming from now.

Lots of great teams have. Florida, ole miss, hell even the great tim corbin lost a few with some of the best teams in the country. PM’s teams were pretty good in regionals IMO in comparison

I’ll concede regionals.

He lost a lot of Supers at home.

It really was just one home regional.

But he wasted Aaron Nola’s last year by blowing a 4-1 lead in the 8th inning while undefeated in the championship round of that regional.

They’re in a better place right now overall.

I don't think this is true. I would bet you we are better than them this year.

And the fan base and facilities have been shite for a decade. We built a stadium that was behind the times when it was finished. And the fans only show up for supers now.

I wouldn't say "have been shite" LSU has one of the best facilities in the country. I'm all for upgrading the box, but you can't say LSU has shite facilities. I do wish more fans would show up, but I think that comes with having a good team. I think there will be somewhat of a resurgence in fan attendance this year with a new staff and good team.

That’s a fair criticism. I got carried away. Opening day and all. The facilities under the stands and the performance center are nice and were tops when they were first built. But I hate the fan experience part of it. So many better places around the SEC.

Agreed. Fans will show up every weekend when it's a top 10 matchup, but I can think of several things they can do to make fans want to come on a week night or game against a non-ranked team. Would really like to see an improved fan experience within the next couple of years

It hasn’t they weren’t being coached. We have had 2 Top 3 recruiting classes since 2018 and 4 in top 10 including Johnson’s 2021 class which is ranked 8th after a coaching change. The talent is and will be here, coaching is why we were under performing. There are lots of reputable college baseball people that predict us to make Omaha this year in Johnson’s first year as head coach, that isn’t because they think Johnson is the greatest ever it’s because they know we have the talent to do it

Again, this isn’t football or basketball. Baseball rankings aren’t nearly as reliable. LSU got good ratings mostly on name recognition. Look at those classes and who actually contributes, who was rated highly and left. There are too many players, too many teams, and not enough interest across the nation to really know who’s going to be good outside of the players the MLB is rating in the top 3 rounds or so.
