As a program hell no.One year doesn’t make them better than anybody.LSU is a national brand in baseball dipshit.Let me know when Tennessee ever has a recruiting class with 11 of the top 100 players.Kids across the country dream of playing for LSU that is what makes us a top 5 program, one year doesn’t define what our program is dumbass

It’s not just one year. You can see their progression and last year, the passed us up. Their coach picked them over us. It’s not really a debate.

Too bad kids don’t pick them over us with their 22nd ranked recruiting class with zero top 100 players. You are a complete dumbass lol. They are so great an on such a great trajectory that you think they are a top 5 program in the country with their 10th ranked recruiting class in the SEC lol.We are a national brand Tenn is not, period

We were talking 5th ranked in the sec. And preseason rankings mean nothing. Literally nothing. Same with recruiting rankings. This isn’t football, ranter.

He was already there. You know he makes a different choice if he was choosing between the 2 without already being employed there

I appreciate much of what Paul did with the program after Smoke almost killed it.

Paul's last three years: 117-76, 45-45 SEC

Smoke's last three years: 121-65, 49-41 SEC

Paul's last year: 38-23, 13-17 SEC

Smokes' last year 35-24; 13-17 SEC

We are talking top 5 programs in the country and your national brand and ability to get talent, fan base, tradition, etc all plays into that.Tenn is not a top 5 program because they did good one season you jackass. You make yourself look more dumb with each post.

If we are talking national, it’s even worse. We aren’t some powerhouse like we used to be. The kids we are recruiting and getting to campus were born after Skip. They’ve only been alive for one championship and they were toddlers when it happened. Your perception is way off.

We are talking about where a program is right now. And if we look at the last 3 years, we can see a bad trend for LSU and an upward trend for Tennessee. They’re in a better place right now overall. Now maybe this year sees us bounce back and them fall off, but this year hasn’t happened. You can’t play “maybe” and “if” games. It’s not based on reality.

ETA: And this was an SEC discussion. This is what kicked it off:
quote:

Now LSU baseball is no longer considered the best in the SEC. Not even a top 5 program but yeah thanks Paul

ETA2: And the fan base and facilities have been shite for a decade. We built a stadium that was behind the times when it was finished. And the fans only show up for supers now. OU and State were the only times the new box resembled the old. Take off the P&G glasses.

Vitello is a douche and we never offered him the job, so he didn’t choose Tennessee over LSU.

But you are correct that we have fallen behind other SEC teams. When has there ever been a Catholic High kid choose another SEC school over LSU? (David Delucci in the early 90s wasn’t offered a scholarship at LSU)

Right now a pitcher at Catholic High is committed to Mississippi State.

You are wrong about Vitello. He didn’t get that raise for going 0-2 in Omaha, bud. We got outbid and Tenn made promises. They’re about to get huge upgrades.

You’d adore him if he was your coach.

And two of his teammates are committed to LSU, so what.

now list how many titles Tennessee has in their lifetimes.

hell, just count Super Regional appearances in their lifetimes.

we’ve been to Supers round more often than they have in the last 3 seasons too.
in fact, we’ve fallen short of Super Regionals once in the last 6 full seasons. (no we don’t get to guess what would have happened in 2020)

Tennessee has reached the Super Regional round once in the last 15 years.

You missed the point. The recruits won’t remember any titles from either team.

2020 was going to be absolutely shite for LSU and you know it. We had Milazzo batting 4th for Christ’s sake.

People are pouncing on Tenn being 5th in my top 5 when I could have easily put USCe there instead. Either way, LSU isn’t top 5 in the SEC. No one is arguing against the other 4.

i didn’t think there was a chance in hell at us making it to Supers last year. But we did.

so i ain’t gonna sit here and act like anything was a forgone conclusion.
but if you want to use a make believe season to help prop up Tennessee and their one good season, go for it.
