Simple fact is the system is corrupt. FACT!
It can never be cleaned up. FACT!
-you can't stop fans/boosters with money from slipping some bills to a player.
University can be clean/coaches can be clean and the players will still get paid. FACT!
Considering the above. I have thrown my hands up and say f-it! Might as well make it legal for players to get paid any amount. The system will be fair in the sense that nothing illegal is done and if you have the money you can buy your team. Highest bidder wins! f-it!

LSU should be throwing Wade a Parade.
And backing up the Brinks truck, Wade is the basketball equivalent of hiring a young Nick Saban.
Wade will be at Kansas or UNC in several years, may have been there eventually regardless, but LSU’s incompetence just ensured it.
If the the NCAA can’t prove it, it didn’t happen...

Would never happen... To any school in the modern era, much less a school in these particular circumstances.
And FWIW Mark Emmert will never let LSU get hit too hard while he's pres.
LSU is not going to get sanctioned by the NCAA. The big battle now is over Wade's $9mil.

In reality, the reaction you lament has little to do with Wade. It has a whole lot to do with LSU not advocating for LSU.
Bill Self was caught caught cheating. Has he been suspended?
Roy Williams was caught caught cheating in the paper class scandal. Has he been suspended?
Sean Miller was caught caught cheating. Has he been suspended?
Zion Williamson was caught caught cheating. Has he been suspended?
Bruce Pearl refuses to discuss proven Auburn recruiting violations with the AU AD. Has he been suspended?
A litany of programs are implicated as cheating. Have they suspended their coaches/players?
This thing is so widespread that unless the NCAA wants to D/Q every major basketball school out there (HINT: They don't), it is going to have to find another remedy. In the meantime, LSU is self-immolating.
That is why people are pissed.
