Why can't you except the fact washington got better? The only place to go from 0-14 is up?

And why does tiger band having anything to do with this? Sorry you had a bad experience?

nah i loved being in it. i sweated it. but alot of people who first get in to it feel like they are part of something huge and have to support the football team/coach/players blindly.

UW was not as bad as their record was last year. If Locker stays healthy, they win 3+ games. Yeah that's not much, but they lost 2 close games early to BYU (1 point) and Stanford (7 points, Locker out in the end). The team gave up on Willingham, because he didn't provide them leadership. That was Willingham's problem.

I don't feel like I HAVE to support the football team all the way..I have my opinion on what I see and tonight I saw a decently good Washington team that won't end up 0-12 this year

They certainly have a shot to get into a crappy bowl game, and I don't think anyone can confidently say that they are going to lose to UCLA, Oregon, and Oregon State.

They will beat Ore, Ore st., UCLA and possibly USC...

Washington has two critical former USC coaches coaching this team... One was doing offense and the other was their defensive coach...I think they will bash USC head in...Pete Carrol must have seriously pissed these coaches off... accepting pay cuts and everything...

do we really have to make a new thread every time we have a semi-coherent thought?

The smartest thing i've heard you say. I think they win 7 games this year. Locker is a beast and their running back is solid. Alot of factors ended up deciding how the game went. It wasn't just one thing, and this isn't an 0-12 team we played tonight, i guarantee you that. And here's the kicker, we WON the game! take away that junk TD in the 4th and its by double digits against an improved better coached PAC-10 team. Thats alot better than the ASU game a few years back when we needed a hail mary on the last drive.

if we build on it and beat most of the other teams on our schedule, it wont matter what happened here in week 1. it will just be another win

Yeah, it will. But we haven't seen if they're going to build on it and for now all we have is unresolved concern.

honest question

when was the last time we build on the first games and improved under les?

in our best years (06, 07) we started out AWESOME

2005 had katrina, which makes it unique. of course we'll be better than the UTenn/ASU games. it's impossible not to

we generally don't get better during the year. in 2007 we got worse. in 2008 we got worse. in 2006 we got better once we played KW, but we were dominant early also

That seals it. Why even play a regular season then?

Did you see Oregon against Boise St? Boise's defense is horrible yet shut down Oregon almost completely.

UO may be in meltdown mode by the time they play. Wait until UW plays USC before we start claiming that LSU sucked it up.

Do you really think that preseason votes mean shite? Notre Dame passed all over the worst passing defense from last year. Nevada has nothing on offense.

i saw some positives. During the Miles era there is nothing that really tells me that the staff wont adjust and make some changes.

It's game one. Definitely an eye opener, but we are to talented to go on a major skid.

It's not really this game in particular for me, just that I didn't see that some of the recurring problems in both scheme and fundamentals have been truly addressed.

I'm giving the staff more time, but for now I'm just a little annoyed to see the result of seemingly monumental changes turn out to be more of the same.
