If Jefferson hadn't been suspended, would you still have made this thread? Did you have some amazing faith that he had really become a great QB overnight and learned how to be a "leader"? I assume your answer is yes, because you're clearly an idiot. That being said, I think Mettenberger needs to play for experience reasons but not as the starter. Don't throw away a season before it begins just because you read on a message board how great this guy is. He hasn't played a down yet and you think he should start. If Lee fails against Oregon then I think you split the duties the next week but I for one think we are better off with Lee than we would have been if that other guy didn't get suspended.

No he should not have the reins given to him. He should however get a good bit of playing time in the Northwestern state game. He does need to see the field as much as possible to get ready in case he has to play this year.
