The whole issue with that stupid-arse, cringe-worthy chant is this: a couple years ago, there were videos of players and Coach Miles asking the students to stop the chant. The current head coach says he likes the song, but not the chant.

If your players and coaches implore you to stop the chant, I think you disrespect them by not stopping. Have a little pride and trust what your peers on the team and the coaches want. They see the bigger picture.

There is nothing classy about it. It makes us all look idiotic. And if chanting vulgar words is your idea "of just having fun", then you need to reevaluate your life

Not sure a 5 year old girl (a) would know what it means; (b) belongs at a football game.

Ok Webster. Me coming in your house and yelling whatever I want is very similar. If you don't want me to do that, are you censoring me? Because TS isn't a public place

You are going to honestly sit in that chair petting that little cat on your lap and argue that the football players implore our fans to stop that chant? Hahahahahahaha

Exactly. Too many snowflakes from the everybody gets a trophy generation posting on here. Tiger Stadium is supposed to the Roman Colosseum, and our opponents are the Christians.

Of course the coaches say they don’t like it. They have to. The players don’t give a frick. When Odell paid the band to play it, there were players by the band saying it too.

Do you live in Tiger stadium?

Not slamming your post, EW. Just wanted to say that I actually USED to live there once upon a time in the mid-eighties. No A/C, no stalls for the toilets on the 2nd or third floors, no doors on the stalls on the first. Rough conditions. But still, it was pretty neat to see the look on the faces of the other students when you told them you lived IN the stadium.

They were jealous as hell!

Except my house is my private property.
The administration of LSU can ban they chant if they want to but YOU have no right to force them to stop. You are a visitor just as they are. YOU do not get to make the rules there.

Imo, you’re never going to change the culture of that phrase. It’s been around for a long time and it will continue no matter what. It doesn’t make it right, but that’s the way it will be in this situation. I get that kids may attend these events, but that doesn’t stop parents from exposing them to X amount of people being highly intoxicated and offensive. If you’re worried about the masses, kids should stay at home in a controlled environment. It’s the only way little Johnny won’t hear STTDB

When I was a kid, during the Go to Hell Ole Miss chants, I tapped my Mom on the arm and asked her If I could say it. She hates Ole Miss more than just about anybody, so she paused a minute and then said “No, you can’t say that. Wait until you’re older.”

I know that this chant is much worse. But I think most of us probably had our first exposure to bad language at an LSU sporting event. We turned out okay. For the most part.

It’s hilarious that some of you trashy bastards actually believe it’s the words that gets everyone pumped and adds to the atmosphere.

It had the same effect before the chant was added, then it became an embarrassment.

Stop being a bitch and buy some tickets that aren’t shite and by all the “trashy” people if you have to bring your 5 year old daughter to the game. She can sit next to mine!
