No, it didn't. Even if we had won that game, we would not have won the SEC West.

Scenario's in 1995 in South Carolina game.

Get a two point conversion = West Champs
Fail on two point conversion = 2nd place
Kick an extra point = 2nd place

LSU finished 4-3-1 in SEC play that year. Arkansas finished 6-2. How would 5-3 have given us the SEC West title over 6-2 Arkansas?

Gerry Dinardo not choosing to go for the west championship still hurts more than Miles not calling time out in the Ole Miss game.

It was early in the season and there was no way to know how the race would play out. A tie rather than a loss could just as easily have given LSU the SEC West title if things had gone the right way later on. In no way, shape or form was that decision anywhere near as bad as Miles' incompetence.

If you want a truly stupid DiNardo moment, then look to the 1997 Auburn game on that infamous 3rd and 2 when he had Tyler throwing instead of Collins or Mealey running.

Or hiring Lou Tepper.

they sure the f**k did, couldn't see the damn field through that storm.

Sorry but nothing will EVER top the Aubie/Jamie Howard meltdown. Don't think LSU football could ever be lower than it was that day.

Auburn 1994 is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to LSU football woes.

I was living in Tuscaloosa then - we had our company picnic that day. A number of us watching the game on tv - all the Bama fans cheering for LSU through the first 3 quarters. After LSU lost - I got ragged the rest of the day.

Certainly a real low point.

He called an audible. He changed the play his coach called for him. He changed to a play that wasn't in the play book.

I blame the golden boy from Shreveport for that. Not Saban.

Saban GUILTY!! Lack of control over the team, playing WAY, WAY, WAY down to the level of competition, poor game management skills, poor game prepertion, throwing his QB & other players under the bus.

May not have been the worst moment as far as football execution. I remember nothing about the actual game except the weather. I was so I high up in the West Upper Deck corner, and the wind was blowing so hard, I actually stayed dry.

I have attended every LSU vs. Arkansas game for the last 12 years and would have to say being amongst the Arkansas fans to witness the first Miracle on Markham St. has made me hate Hog fans more than most. Matt Jones was 2-16 until the last 26 seconds where we let him complete 2 hail mary's to end the night with 4 completed passes. Still hurts inside. Then my entire family sat in the rain 2 years ago and watched LSU dominate the Hogs in the first half with generic play calling, Jordan Jefferson's first start. Second half was a pathetic display of execution and play calling and another last second defeat..The only thing worse than losing to Arkansas is losing any game at home....

my worst LSU momemt... during my Freshman year, 1986.

Ranked #8, we get thumped by Miami of Ohio 21-12. Wasn't even close...

1994 Auburn ranks 2nd. Any loss to Ole Piss ranks 3rd.

Hell, in the post game interview, Amadee said he'd calll the same plays if he had it to do over again. I almost had a stroke.

Then in 1999, in Athens GA, he goes for two and the win against the dawgs, fails, and loses.

At least Athens was a kick arse road trip.

My personal most pissed off moment at an LSU game:

Flynn's interception in the final OT period.. given what I thought was at stake, that was a real stinger.

fortunately it all worked out fine in spite of that.

I remember that game, because I was there, I was very young and the score was 17-17. This was the first time in any sport I have witnessed a tie. Thank God I don't watch soccer.

former LSU Head Coach raising crystal ball for hated rivals in about a month should do it

Not really. Losing at 'Bama and having the inept officials deny the Tigers a chance to pull the game out hurt a whole lot more. Losing at Ark. the way we lost in '02, costing LSU the west and a shot at two consecutive SEC titles hurt more than any other debacle I can recall. For older folk, the 2-point conversion by Billy Cannon in '59 at UT(crossed the goal line by officials denied)which cost the school a second consecutive national championship is hard to top.

My freshman year at LSU. The Tennessee game was a tough loss (not only the denied two point conversion, but missed chip shot fg and late 4th quarter fumble by Cannon); but that's not the worst moment even in that season - the 1960 Sugar Bowl game was far worse.

Wake up and smell the coffee!

It was UAB and not Bama and it was probably the worst played game by both teams that I have ever soon in Tiger stadium.

In that 1997 game against Auburn didn't Herb run out of bounds which stopped the clock? That being said, Auburn still went 80 yards and scored the winning touchdown with 30 seconds left.

Of all the bad moments of LSU football, your worst is a tie against South Carolina in an Independence-bowl season? Weird.

No doubt the Tigers were flat as a pancake in the Sugar Bowl. But remember that if they get the W at UT then they win the MNC regardless of what happended in the Bowl back then.
