Kevin Gausman's immaculate inning against Cleveland tonight (three strikeouts on nine pitches) is just the 90th immaculate inning ever recorded in MLB history.

How rare is an immaculate innings? There has been just 90 in MLB history. They are far harder to achieve than no-hitters, in which there’s been 297 in MLB history. What Kevin Gausman achieved in the 7th inning tonight was a very special moment.

I doubt a major league pitcher having a great inning is much to offset an 0-4 week. That’s like saying the football team lost but Odell had a lot of catches against Washington.

Yay?

Good for Kevin, but what does it REALLY have to do with LSU? Currently, anyway.

Man I remember when I used to get upset like this. I enjoy life and I'm sorry we lost but we made it to the National championship game last year and lost our 2 best starting pitchers and alot of talent. Yes we aren't having that good of a season but I will be ok.

I’m not upset. Off year is off year. Sucks, but I know our program is still strong. Just saying Kevin Gausman’s pitching performance doesn’t effect amyone’s Feelings about the current state of LSU baseball.

It’s getting less rare it seems ...28 of the 90 have been in the last 10 years. But it’s still damned impressive

Incredible to think that not only was he throwing strikes, or pitches that look like strikes, but non were fouled off.

Well of course it doesn’t change the disappointment that is the current season but it’s still great to see a Tiger doing well in the bigs

The first 2 strikes of all 3 at bats could have been fouled off. Just not strike 3. Still a very cool accomplishment.

Stat guys:

Just curious it’s very rare to get a 9 pitch 3 strikeout inning.

Is it more rare to get 3 outs on 3 pitches?

I'd rather a 3 pitch inning.

1 pitch inning would be better...or a no pitch inning
