Patterson hasn't proven jack shite to me as a coach. Yay, he could beat Boise in a Cinderella showdown a couple times. Yay, he could dominate the Mountain West.
1 season at the "big boy's table" (in the Big 12, a real BCS conference) and he goes 7-6, and follows that by running his mouth needlessly about his opponent in the upcoming season opener.
I bet in 3 more years TCU will be obscure again, and Patterson will be too.
We're all entitled to an opinion, but I feel as if this is a pretty misguided one. With the Big XII money coming in (tiered as it may be, we'll be at full share next year), support of donors (basically 5 families funded the stadium remodel), breaking season ticket sales for the last 4 years in a row, and the city of Ft Worth truly, and FINALLY, embracing TCU as "Fort Worth's team", metroplex locale in the heart of a recruiting hotbed, etc., TCU isn't going anywhere near obscurity for the foreseeable future.
We may never reach the level of perennial Big XII champ like OU, but even when taking off my purple goggles, I have a hard time seeing us fading into Big XII cellar-dwelling obscurity.

This'll be a good game. There's a reason the Vegas line is only -4.
That's unfortunate if your basis for thinking this will be a good game is a Vegas line.

So he was suspended from all team activity then?
For the last 4 months.
..and he's been on a judge ordered curfew for a while. I think 9pm is nite-nite for him now.

I don't need to get a grip. You need to understand we were #2 or 3 in the SEC last year and we will be top 3 again this year. That is basically top 2 or 3 in nation despite everyone not giving us our due.
You will see. Ask Oregon how great a game it was. You guys got smoked your first year in a real conference and now bc you think your freshman have experience you can run with the best?
I'm not saying you guys won't make some plays or be a good team this year. I'm saying you aren't elite. LSU is elite.

Why did the team vote?
1. Hill, in an offseason setting, was suspended from ALL team activities until his probation hearing. So the TEAM voted to allow him to participate... with the TEAM. That means practice.
2. Reinforces to Hill and THE TEAM that behavior affects the whole TEAM.
To say that Miles is hiding behind that vote is to insult those players by insinuating they ALL have no moral compass or a desire to be, as a group, somewhat self regulating. Hey, guess what. There's a life lesson right frigging there- you can't make it in this world alone. You can't be so selfish that you damage whatever group you work with.
Did Hill go unpunished by Miles (not commenting on society's punishment)? WE DO NOT KNOW. In fact the man said futher punishment is coming. To what degree? Don't know. We will know Hill is suspended when he doesn't dress out. Hill is not suspended but has been demoted if he dresses and doesn't play.
Miles is refusing to be a reed in the wind and allow any media to alter the direction he, as CEO of LSU football, decides is the best course of action. That is why the punishment has not, and probably will not, been announced.

I said there's a reason that the Vegas line is -4. Not that the Vegas line is the reason this will be a good game. Pull your head out, sir.

Good luck in Arlington. I used to live in Dallas. I know all about you Horned Frogs home of LT. Nice campus.

Yeah because of uncertainty with LSU losing so many players. If you think there is any relationship between this being a good game and the line you are sadly mistaken.
ETA: Not saying that TCU sucks and isn't a formidable opponent. Just saying that there really isn't a relationship between those 2.

If y'all are elite, maybe you should stop being Bama's beeotch...
In all seriousness, LSU is the only SEC team I bother paying attention to or pulling for. Really don't care for anyone else, and I hate Aggy with all that is in my heart.
I never said we were elite. In fact, I DID say that we may never get to the point that we're perennial Big XII favorites like OU, but everything is set up for our program to take the next step forward, just have to take care of biz on the field and in recruiting.

Vegas lines aren't always accurate, and they are no way to determine or form someone's opinion of a game, but they are usually right more times than they are wrong.

LSU has just been out foxed by Saban in both losses. LSU has been their own worst enemy when playin Alabam with the playcalling and all. Alabama knows they have nothing on LSU and is lucky to have won these two titles. But I agree with the line because of what I just said. LSU not playin up to their capabilities most of the time.

Not sure what you mean by they are right more than they are wrong. I guess you mean they are typically fairly close to the actual score.
The first part of your comment is exactly what I was saying in my first comment.

You guys went 0-4 at home in-conference, in your inaugural season. You never won consecutive conference games. I'd say the excitement of joining a new and bigger conference is over, and the warm fuzzies everyone got from out-dueling Boise is fading fast. Patterson better get things better in a hurry, or those ticket sales, those donors, and his job will be toast. And given that, I fail to see how making asinine comments about your season-opening opponent shows he has a clue; instead, it makes me wonder if he's about to drown.

Thank you for pointing out what several others already corrected me for.
What's being pointed out to you is that neither you nor your coach know the Hill situation as well as Miles does and making judgment calls about what discipline Hill should or shouldn't receive is foolish on the part of both of you.

Perfect
Now our team has some motivation to hang 50 on them.
They really think they could beat us with or without Hill?

Patterson is a douche. Worry about your own damn program.

You can say what you want about us and Bama, but playing us is gonna be just like playing Bama.
It's too late to check yourself cease you've already wrecked yourself.
The only games concerning me are UGA, Bama and Ole Miss (rivalry).
TCU is just good enough to help us focus during the off season.
LSU is the team that most scares Bama every year for good reason.
