No one thinks he is bad.
___________
You and the up voters been under a rock? He was treated pretty bad on here for several weeks.

Burrow was throwing to Moss, Jefferson, Marshall, and Chase, and handing the ball to Clyde Edwards-Helaire.
Daniels was throwing to Nabers and Thomas.
Nuss is throwing to ????

We have posts on here that literally say "Nuss is so bad"
He's not bad, but there were posters a month ago who thought he was the best QB in the SEC and a potential Heisman finalist.
His counting stats are great because of the volume of pass plays, but his percentage stats leave a lot to be desired
quote:
In the SEC:
QB Rating: 10th
YPA: 10th
Comp%: 8th
Adj Comp%:11th
INT: 2nd
Turnover worthy plays: 3rd
His drops with Lacy have obviously been an issue, but people over-inflate the drop issues. There are 6 more QBs in the SEC that have higher drop %'s. Nussmeier is much closer to the median than he is being a huge drop outlier.

Three weeks ago I was on the "If Nuss had a good OC, he would be in the Heisman talk".
After his horrid decision making in the past three games, I let off of that. After last night, I have to roll back to it.
With a decent OC, he would be solid. But, our OC is garbage, so...

Lacy's rank among SEC WR's:
Receptions: 4th
reYds: 4th
TD's: t1st
1st downs: 2nd
Nuss is 2nd in yards and TDs in the SEC. Context counts right?
Nuss has made bad throws and decisions and Lacy loses focus and struggles to haul in contested balls.

I think Lacy is serviceable but he doesn’t have that ‘wow’ or ‘it’
_____________
Don't see Lacy this way. Lacy has a few wow moments, but lacks consistency. Too many drops. Doesn't have a good football IQ. He will run a 3 yard route on 3rd and 5. He goes out of bounds when we need the clock to keep running. Lacy has good skills, but is not a WR1.

Lacy has obviously had issues with drops, but he is also always wide the frick open lol. Nuss has missed him open deep on a bunch of occasions. So there is that, too. All this could look a lot better.

I’m still on the Nussbus a lot more than others here. But this stat is fairly misleading because of the number of attempts. Nuss is not in the top 100 in yards per attempt. LINK
Edit: CFB nerds reporting him as 70th in the country in yards per attempt LINK

Now that's hyperbole.
Lacy had a TD drop vs USC, at least another this season (I can't recall which game) and one last night. I get on some plays the DB gets a hand on his arm, but good WRs hold on to the ball. He's also notorious for dropping easy passes as well. Did it when JD was here too. Lacy doesn't have breakaway speed, hasn't shown great YAC (although I will say he hasn't had enough opportunities) and doesn't show the ability to make contested catches. He's been a good route runner, which is probably his best attribute.

Dropped an easy one Vs Bama (TD first drive)

We’ve already established weeks ago Tigerdroppings does not know:
-what a drop is vs a PBU.
-And what constitutes a WR as being “open”.
Of course there is some hyperbole there saying he is always wide open. He’s not on every single snap. There’s a reason he has 25 more targets than the next closer guy, though.

Jayden had to play perfect every possession because he had to play against LSU’s defense and the opponents every week. LSU defense was non existent. LSU won multiple games this year despite Nuss’s below average performances.

I do not get how people don't understand the concept of Yards per Attempt being the most important metric any QB could have
This is also the first season Nuss has been the starter, Jayden had 4 starting seasons prior to 2023 Heisman season. Do not get how people don't understand the concept of starting experience

Two 1st round receivers helps that stat alot.

What a ignorant response.
Daniels was a 5th year starter with two WR's, first round draft choices, now starters/stars of their NFL teams .

Why’s he throwing so many passes? LOL

JD - 4th year starter first at LSU
Passing - 2913 17 TDs
Completion % - 68.6
Rating - 144
Nuss - 1st year starter
Passing - 3458 23 TDs
Completion % - 63.2
Rating - 137
Nuss has minimum 2 games left and he is way ahead of JD in terms of QB development.

6 weeks ago today you were calling him the best QB in the SEC & a Heisman finalist
Now his barometer is Jayden Daniels 1st year lmao
