I’m perfectly fine with sacrificing Nuss so we could get Kiffin.

CBS rankings as him 4th, but I think 3rd is possible with starting for 2 seasons and good arm in this down QB year.
Simpson's drawback is he started 1 season. That's a big risk but if you studied him and grilled him good during the interview....then maybe you have confidence. Only 1 season starting is risky. We've seen that not play out well for NFL QB's. But it was the SEC, and he has the tools, so it will be interesting.
CBS has Nuss as an average arm. That and his height is what hurts him according to them. Looking at last season, it was below avg but I always felt he had a very good arm when healthy

In addition to not having the line and running game, he also received little help from the poor play calling of the coaches.

Career backup and that’s a hell of a living.

I will forever be indebted and grateful for his injury. Got us Kiffin and tPear back

What was he supposed to do…advertise to every week’s opponent that the QB behind that useless line that couldn’t block anything was going to be easy to knock out of the game? ??

Nuss did his fair share of sucking arse injured or not
Lots of bad decisions, for sure. But I do think some of it arose from just how shitty BK's offense was. Awful line. No scheme. No run game. Nuss knew forcing the ball down the field was the only play. He just pulled the trigger too many times.
Knowing the truth about the injury now, I get why he was always so hesitant to run.

Nuss even saying he wasn’t hurt. frick him and BK both. Nuss literally ruined our season.

Garrett Nussmeier has a cannon for an arm. I'm so happy to see him getting the recognition he deserves. I hope he has a productive and successful career as an NFL QB. He will not be alone in the LSU trained QB's in the NFL. They abound.
Unfortunately, he (and other talented young athletes) got stuck with a coach (Brian Kelly) who mailed his coaching in and just did NOT develop talent.
In the end Kelly took his buyout and ran. while Garrett Nussmeier stands on the precipice of an amazing NFL career.

I’m sure Kelly even regrets not doing everything he could to get VB reps. I agree with hiding it for Clemson but he should have let VB practice as 1 and go v Tech and as many games as it took to get Nuss back

I’ll believe it when it happens. His college results don’t indicate success. Downvote away

Crazy thing is is that if he’s healthy and we get similar to 2024 Nuss we go 10-2 and make the playoffs and BK is still coach. Don’t think we make it very far in the playoffs though in that scenario

That too.
And to another poster, we DID have a decent backup as his body of work at MSU attests.
However, that poor guy was running for his life and had no receivers or running game. At State he had a damn line. Not great but better than what we had.
