Seems rejuvenated it’s great to see. I know there was also a lot of preseason hype last year but there was still many massive questions about BK bringing Sloan back and the o line.
This offseason feels different. It’s clear Kiffin is attacking this job already with the type of hunger and commitment that BK in 4 years never did. I can’t wait for week1 to get here and the Kiffin era to officially be upon us .

Yeah I think BK was content with his legacy and what he had already accomplished. LK is still building his and will settle for nothing less than a title.

I don't want to hate on the BK early years because he did take over a pretty shitty situation and at least made them respectable early. He just never put it all together.
No matter what happens with Lane, he has jumped into Baton Rouge with his best feet forward and is doing everything he can to immerse himself and the program in LA culture. Its hard not to get excited about a coach that does that.

to be fair this board has said this every July for the last decade. You never know but I like what I see.

I don’t disagree with your overall sentiment, but it is funny to watch the cycle that fans go through. 4 years ago this board was filled with basically this exact post except BK was replaced with Coach O and Kiffin was replaced with BK.

We are entering the July/August part of the calendar, aka clamdip's We Are Going Undefeated And Unscored Upon prediction phase.

Hopefully title(s)
I’m hoping Lane stays hungry for more like Saban if he does win a championship.

What can I say? I thought after the 2022 Alabama win: “there’s a new sheriff in town.” I thought CBK would be a more cerebral—if less a disciplined taskmaster—Nick Saban. I was wrong.
Yes, we say the same thing with every regime change, but I am optimistic. I think Lane understands it’s playoff or bust.

BK thought this place would recruit itself and he would coast to a NC. He was humbled by the reality of his own laziness.

Funny thing is he very well could’ve coasted to a natty if he made the correct staff hires. Turns out he was a pretty bad ceo too. His initial defense staff hires were disasterous. When he finally fixed that the offensive hires turned out to be bad. We never once were a complete team under BK and a big reason for that was due to his staff hires always being a mess on one side of the ball.

He should have told Scott Woodward to frick off. (McWoodward apparently nixed the Davis firing from all reports) That right there shows that BK had lost his fire; was comfortable, coasting and didn't GAF.
There's no way BD should've been coaching Offensive Line in the SEC or any other "Big Boy" school. Campbell, Dellinger, Jones and Frazier returned in 24 and we still can't run the football!, but back Davis be in 25.
Everybody knows the rest of the story, but all the dysfunction eventually lead to the Tiger Viking raid, pillage and plunder of the Village of Oxford. (Initiated by Rousse, Mallet, Ausberry and Landry)

I thought our OL and TEs would be elite under BK-boy, was I wrong

The BK era sucked for so many reasons but the biggest one of all was watching football under his regime just wasn't fun. Plain and simple.
I don't know what to expect from this team this upcoming year but I'm excited to watch, which is more than I could say the last few years.

Was that BKs choice or did Woody force him to keep Davis?
