No Mainieri coach team has made Omaha without winning the SEC West. I'd say it's pretty important for the team to win the West. I understand that it's a long season but I'd much rather us make up some ground now. Every game, no matter when in the season counts the same. Last year two rain outs and a tie possibly cost us the West.
