If that's all we need, I'm bringing in Evans. Game 1 winners have an enormous advantage.

That's easy, I defer that decision to the coaching experts of the Rant and go with whoever their consensus is.

I would check to see if Hunter Gomez has any eligibility and if so, insert him for those final outs.

I give Shores or Noot or Williams a batter and then ride with them until there is any sign of a problem. The first baserunner they allow with the score still a 1 run advantage, and you pull them for Evans.

Would be great to keep Evans off the mound in case you need him later.

You bring in Evans and then you can decide if you want to pitch off in game 2 and have Eyanson DOMINATE whatever rag arm they throw out there for game 3 or if you want to just go for the jugular in Game 2.

I’d pitch Evans to close. Assuming a win, I would start Cowans the next day against their #2. And I’d start Eyanson on day three with Evans to close. Unless Cowan gave us a lead in three or four innings, in which case I’d bring in Eyanson to wrap up the Super by pitching the last five or six innings.

He hasn’t closed a single game this season (not a close one, maybe he closed one of those 10 run rule games)

In Cowans last 4 appearances, what would make you select him to start game 2?

I know who it definitely wouldn't be... Shores. If we see Shores again, it will be a wholestaff game around the 4th inning with the shortest of leashes.

I’d be taking a shot that he has the great game we know he is capable of, and if he doesn’t I’d concede game 2 and go into game 3 with an overwhelming advantage on the mound - Eyanson/Evans against WVA’s Sunday bunch would be like the Great Marianas Turkey Shoot.

I’m not saying start Cowan game 2, but I’m not giving up on him either. If you want to win it all, somebody on that staff other than Anderson, Eyanson, and Evans have to give you some innings. Jared Jones and Steven Milam both entered the regional in big slumps. We didn’t give up on them (“we” as in the coaching staff, perhaps the Rant did) and they came through at times.

We need Cowan!

Casan Evans. If he just cant go for some reason, Williams. I am sorry, I dont trust Shores to throw strikes. I may look at Cowan if I can see stats on what he does throwing after Anderson, it could be that he is very effective..

It's a 3 game series and with only 6 outs to get, you can use him for game 3 if necessary. You have to assume he'd only throw ~35 pitches.
