Yea moore is nola's catcher. Im hoping scivicque is behind the plate tomorrow and sunday with moore at first. No reason for chinea to play vs RHP.

If Nola wanted Laird to catch, Laird would need to put on some catchers gear.

Moore's never been that great of a catcher.

Moore is very good at receiving pitches and framing them. Tonight aside, he's also good at blocking balls in the dirt. HIs weakness is throwing out runners.

Even Mainieri says so.

Coach criticized his arm, not the other elements of catching, which are more important IMO. Shame on Coach for saying what he said to the media.

Nola likes him.

Nola likes him because he is the best catcher, throwing out runners aside. Nola told Coach before the season started that he wanted to pitch to Moore. The guys on here saying Nola liked to pitch to Chinea were wrong.

The look on that A&M guys face in the dugout after the catch is amazing

I thought Coach was out of line with those comments.

Anyway, big win tonight. Hope is alive.

Since Boat set me up for it. https://theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/8486861-123/story.html

quote:

Moore, a Dunham grad, will be used in a more limited basis behind the plate after Tuesday’s outing. He misfired badly on two throws to second, allowing a pair of steals.

“The throws weren’t very accurate, nor were they strong,” Mainieri said. “That was always my concern with Tyler. Of the three catchers, he has the third-best throwing arm strengthwise.”

Moore’s role, for now, is unclear, but Mainieri said, “I still am confident in Tyler. He’s just not blessed with an overly strong arm.

One thing most people always say they love about PM is he is straight forward, honest, and doesn't give the normal coach-speak answers.
