4 steals, 3 assists, 5 rebounds and drew a huge charge late in the game. And he's our best on ball defender against the other teams best ball handlers

His defense on Shuler and #24 killed their run. He was great on D tonight. He changed the temperature of a game so quickly.

Cook was not effective tonight,. That is the reason he didn't play much.

He only played 3 minutes, so it was more of a strategy decision by Wade.

Gaines needs to mature some but he has the potential to be a special playmaker on both sides to the ball. He EASILY has the best court vision of anyone on the team and tremendous length at 6’2-ish

Only bad decision Gaines made was launching that 3, but it came to him and he was open enough. Can't really fault it. Would have liked to see him drive and kick out to a shooter there, though. Other than that, he played fantastic. Made huge defensive plays, crisp passes in traffic ... just great. There was a play where he leaped to try to block a shot and actually got boxed out by another Tiger, but I think he might have gotten to the ball without the interference. He played tenacious and full throttle the entire time he was on the court. Was great to see!

Gaines should shoot 10,000 tres during the off season. If he could start hitting tres, he could really be dangerous.

Absolutely love his defense, creativity and energy. But his shot needs tons of work in the offseason.

Agree but he will learn. Great thing is he gives 110% so I can accept a few mistakes as a freshman. But what he brings on the D side is invaluable.
