Lots of us did mind and thought he looked like a total idiot. Laron at times was an embarrassment with his showboating.

Not many on this board seemd to mind. Infact, I remember reading threads about who you would pick to win a street fight and how Landry could 'curb stomp' any receiver in the SEC.

FWIW - I didn't agree with it either.

Let me repeat, Laron Landry is a great Strong Safety. He was excellent his first year when he said Sean Taylor to play Free. Right now he's the only safety on the roster with the athleticism to play Free Safety in the NFL, so he's stuck there. A square peg in a round hole. If the Skins can pick up a decent Free Safety to take the spot from him, he will explode.

Take it from someone who has watched his entire NFL career.

he has 0 picks a 1 pass defensed the entire year. Pretty God awful for a FS.

I dont remember it being this bad back then. I think if he would have been shaking his head around and flexing after a 7 yard gain while at LSU, he would have gotten shite for it.

He would routinely stand over a tackled players and mouth off. He was also the quick to taunt the opposing sideline after a big defensive play. He would also hit out of bounds and lead with his helmet - and was flagged plenty of times for this.

It's worse now, but it was pretty pronounced when he was here. People just chose to either look the other way or celebrate it.

I'm from Hahnville and can't pull for him. He needs to cool it with the thug type crap.

FWIW, I don't think this was a very good thread.

Laron needs to celebrate after a big play and then move to the next play. He has uncontrolled emotion which will hinder him until he learns how to harness that energy for the next play. However, I would rather a player have too much emotion than not enough emotion.

It just looks silly to celebrate a tackle on a Pierre Thomas first down then get burnt for 50+ yard touchdowns.

Laron plays the run well, but for my money I would take Ed Reed over him everyday.

Who wouldn't ???

It's interesting to see the Saints target him now.
(Fixed)

The Inside the NFL crew pointed out that the Saints targeted Landry all game long like they targeted the weak NE db the past week.

Yep, worse than silly. He used to do this at LSU all the time. Tebow almost killed him one time on a run and that shut him up for a little bit.

Well I didn't like his taunting when at LSU and don't care for the guy now due to this bullshite. If I were the coach, I would fine him for that shite. Why don't the refs flag him for this continued taunting and what is this waving to the crowd crap? He is a POS in my book and gets burned on too many pass plays.

For the guy who would take Ed Reed over Laron...No shite dude, not even close enough to mention a comparison with Reed.

Landry is out of position at FS - he simply can't play there. He's a terrible liability and teams exploit him every week.

And regardless of what position he plays, he can't tackle to save his life. He's far more interested in trying to lay a big hit on the ball carrier.

He's also a huge POS. Having to watch the Redskins games each week and see this low-class punk make a fool of himself game after game is amusing since I'm not a Skins fan. If I was, it would be maddening.

i agree w/ orig post, he kept them in the game early, he caused some of the fg's...... the NFL is all about smack talking he was no worse then any others. I did notice though that he didnt talk smack to Devery, they were constantly patting each other on back/but...... but he def was a big overboard smack talker at LSU too......
