Yes, it was somewhat of a "low pressure" situation given that Georgia had a 25 point lead when he entered the game
This was and still is a poor take.
the game and time

Right and the first item in that highlight completely kills the idea he is a one read QB. He did everything correct and when through progressions resetting his body properly each time to make a throw.
The throw in traffic to Booty was just a super accurate pass. The throw to Nabors down field when he had two guys on him, Nabors was the only one that saw that ball. He did it again to Jenkins later in the quarter.
Every encouraging, but I agree with some I read this weekend, his next level of QB is to manipulate safeties with his eyes.
Then I come to the rant and after the throws interception and everyone is talking about him staring down receivers. I was like what, are you guys even watching what is happening.

If you are a coach, he does a lot of things that you really don't teach. He's not always set on throws. He makes them falling back, off balance, somewhat side armed, into really tight windows. A lot of things that scare you. But sometimes those traits make them the biggest playmakers as well.
He's always reminded me of Baker Mayfield at OU. He's not doing everything the way you are "supposed" to do it. But he's also running around making plays

Every single one of those plays UGA only rushed 4 players. No blitzing, soft coverage. I like Nuss but that in no way simulates a real, live game against that defense. Please watch it again and take note of that, for whatever it might be worth to you (it should mean a lot if you know football).

This one clip could’ve been JD5’s season highlight reel for the passing game.
Ouch and true.

It was "low pressure" in the sense that UGA had a big lead and LSU/Nussmier didn't have to be overly concerned about not making a crushing mistake to risk turning a close game a blowout loss. It wasn't low pressure in the sense that UGA had put in their backups and started playing prevent defense at the beginning of the second half. They had not at that point.
If that game is 24-21 when he comes in is the play calling the same? Is the tolerance for him making some of those risky throws the same? Almost assuredly not. It was a great situation for him to take some risks. It was unlikely LSU was going to overcome a 35-10 deficit in the second half. So why not sling it a bit. It's not as if an INT was going to be backbreaking in terms of the overall result.

That's what UGA runs. They rarely bring extra guys. UGA came into the game, giving up 198 yards through the air per game. Around #25 in the country.
Also, the narrative that Nuss made these plays in garbage time is total crap. His best throw, the deep ball to Nabers, came with 9:30 left in the third quarter. A TD on that drive would have made it 35-24 with about 8 minutes to play in the third. The kid was battling.

Lol ok
No one just rushes 4 in modern football

Down 35-10, UGA knew LSU had to pass the ball downfield to have a shot in this game. and still couldn't defend it?

The interception was a remarkably awful decision
But everything else looked good
I just don’t understand what he saw/thought on the INT with the lone deep safety sitting on the hash to the boundary he’s throwing to when he had Taylor on a flag on the backside and 1 on 1.
But that’s for the coaches to talk to him about.

He trusts his receivers to make plays.
That’s all that was.. and slightly off on timing which comes with time and reps

Daniels played very well against UGA on a bum ankle.
He also played very well against Southern.
Nuss only played well in one of those. Four turnovers between the two. He should definitely be the guy lol

Can you imagine JD doing this:

Please watch it again

He’s also had all the reps with the 1’s and 40+ more starts as a QB. I expect him to play well against Southern. Weird logic, Sun
