Milazzo odd man out right now in catcher / DH rotation. I think he still plays a role this year. I also think Pearson has earned a spot in lineup. Going to be tough for guys to crack this lineup. Frey for instance, I don't think he played at all this weekend.

He's going to catch one game a weekend, whether that's Saturday or Sunday.

Yea, I agree, my point is that I think currently of the 3, he's 3.

This was always the case though.

For quite awhile, Milazzo was 2 behind Neal, because of his "stellar defense". Maybe I'm just not an expert, but I just don't see it. He's had a number of passed balls, sometimes right after the announcer would tout his defensive skill. And what little improvement behind the plate he MIGHT be, is far offset by his total lack of offensive production. Dude struggles at the plate vs mid-major bullpens, let alone frontline SEC-tier guys.

To your point, I think Travinski has improved behind the plate.

Milazzo user to manhandle PM’s old staffs in terms of receiving & framing. But it’s been different the last two seasons. He is fumbling the ball pretty regularly as the stuff has improved. He gets caught with his glove turned the wrong way a bunch

Are you referring to previous years?

He hit .289 last year which was the same as Dugas and better than Thompson and Pearson. He’s also hitting .357 so far this year. Obviously he’s got no power, and I’m not trying to say he should be starting. But he’s not a black hole in the lineup like he once was, he’s serviceable.

Not sure how Pearson has earned a spot. He was good today, but hasn’t been constantly good in his whole career. Brown is faster, much better arm and has a much higher ceiling. I say stick with Brown early in the year and see how he handles sec pitching.
