Why? How hard should it be to keep the top tier kids coming to LSU every year? Shouldn't be a let down year.

Bad breaks
Tough league
All of these are reasons for the season we are having. Some of these reasons are unavoidable, but some could have been mitigated.
PM didn't become a bad coach in less than a year so I suspect he will make changes to get things turned around. I would be surprised if he didn't.
Pro baseball
Injuries

There are teams that still rely on homeruns but they usually play in shoeboxes. Kentucky is a somewhat reasonable example.
