he is most certainly a box safety but hes more than just a one trick pony. And I really cannot recall off the top of my head an egregious missed tackle. rarely do RBs or WRs get past him.

Jamal absolutely ate up Evan Engram and the good Bama TE that was a high pick.

Adams is sooooo much more than a "box safety". He's a great route reader and great at getting the secondary in the right spots pre-snap. His ability to read a play before the snap is ridiculous.

He's fast enough to cover the slot receiver and physical enough to cover the tight end. Sure, he may drop a few INTs he should come up with, but what's harder to measure is his ability to prevent completions before the pass is even made.

And yes, he can play center field:

He's too physical for your average slot receiver to handle at the line but fast enough to jam them and still stay with them if they happen to slip the jam.

He's a little small to match up favorably with some tight ends, but he knows that. And he's smart and physical enough to compensate for the size disadvantage.

In our bowl game vs Louisville, Jamal went nearly sideline to sideline and ran down Heisman winner Lamar Jackson.

Jamal Adams effectiveness is more subtle than playmakers such as Tyrann Mathieu(honey badger) and Chad Jones(would have been a monster for the NY Giants) who were both ball hawk playmakers.

Jamal Adams is always in position and shines against the run game or middle of the field passing attack. Want to add that the Saints are probably a Jamal Adams away from competing for the Super Bowl.

Adams was timed officially at 4.45 at LSU's pro day, per NFL.com senior analyst Gil Brandt.?

So? When's the last time you needed a safety to run a sub 4.4 40? That's not what a safety does.

Yes. I still want to criticize his athleticism.

This guy's an idiot that obviously doesn't understand the difference between a 40 time and athleticism.

You know what's more important than 40 time for a safety? Closing speed and the ability to tackle in the open field.

Someone should let him know that a safety is not a cover corner.

He should buy a book.

He can play deep, near the line of scrimmage, in the slot, in space, on the goal line. He can blitz, he can tackle, he's a leader, and he plays with controlled enthusiasm and brashness. He was an all-pro rookie.

First, Jamal Adams is an extraordinary athlete, and as every Jets fan seems to already know, he is great at run support. He is a good cover guy as well, but I suspect that he's not very good in zone coverage. I say this because there was always a lack of turnovers from Jamal (though I understand he already has an interception after week 1).

If by Rod Woodson you mean Darren Woodson, then you would be correct.
